So what happens when you are typing in the name and you miss another marker insert?

Same as now if you edit marker name during recording/playback.
Dialog window must be closed first.

Earlier I wrote about a feature request of  preset marker names. Key bindings to preset marker names (with customized snap to grid settings).
It would make marking faster because (IMO) most marker names are the same from project to project: Intro, Verse, Chorus, etc.  Prompt for Marker name command is cheaper alternative and would not require much new program code.

Noel Borthwick [Cakewalk] Creating AUX sends needs some improving

Believe it or not in SONAR 8 this was changed to send to 0dB because some users preferred that approach rather than setting it to -INF. I like your idea of a configurable initial send value though so feel free to feature request it.

Hello There...

I am too a dedicated SONAR user in the professional arena.
I hope you, Noel will take an interest in my problem with MEDIA BROWSER.
I am told it's non-existent, yet some people have the problem.
My non existent problem killed delivery of a demo upon which serious income depends...
A lof of the money I don't have is tied up in a system with SONAR as the star of the show.
The show is temporarily canceled. How would you feel if you had no money, you had a job offer and your equipment failed?
I have a laundry list of crashes which occurred last night (23 february).

You see anyone can use GotoMeeting and help a client...

The failure was so pervasive it has completely crashed the program preventing completion of my project.
The audio recording only project finally crashed numerous times resulting in Seesion Drummer reporting an autohost.exe failure.

This may seem strange to say this, but in all the years that I've been using Sonar from the earliest version, I have had very few crashes (knock on wood), but crashes appear to be a common thing from what I read on the forum.

Regards
This is just human nature.  People usually don't complain about something that meets their expectations. There are a lot of posts about what doesn't work or what exceeds expectations. Folks are motivated to talk about those things.

I'm a newbie to all of this but, so far, no crashes with Producer 8.51.  (fingers and cables crossed)

Actually... this is funny as hell... the last line is so subtly humorous... Keep Truckin Finland...
Say don't you guys have a strong jazz, jazz fusion and prog rock community?

Sonar user goes Reaper

Today I gave Reaper a try.
After ten minutes of playing around it crashed. I did not do anything bad.

Impressions before crash:

Override pan law per track (right mouse click to track's pan slider). Wow how easy.

Insert click source. Easy as cake. But I did not find how to change click sound. Impossible or unintuitive.

Add FX: There is 'Recently used' folder. Hey, I want same in Sonar, too!

Insert:  Marker (prompt for name).  Maybe one of the greatest inventions after coffee machine.

Playback rate. I've seen this has requested in Sonar. Wow.

I added FL Studio as ReWire. It worked five minutes and then Reaper crashed when I was zooming out the track view. At the same time I decided not to participate in Reaper's beta testing community.  I'm already in 8.5.1 public beta testing!

Well I don't have to close the marker window. But perhaps you missed my point when you say a dialog pops up for a name in Reaper when you insert a marker. I wonder if while that dialog is waiting for ones input and one is busy typing away the song is still playing and a new marker could be missed by all the dialog dealings or is it some how an option? I don't have the best memory but I know where I wish to name a marker when I have inserted all of them as needed after the song is stopped. If I had to deal with a darn dialog with every marker insertion I would get very annoyed.

That's where the Presets Markers would help both of us: I don't really love typing the marker names but improved 'on the fly' marker naming would make dialog almost unused.
Markers in my Dream Sonar more technically:

AUD.INI
[Markers]
NumberOfMarkers=5
Name1="Verse"
Name2="Chorus"
Name3="Bridge"
Name4="Break"
Name5="Outro"
SnapToMeasure=1            ; 0=same as in Snap Setting Dialog, 1=Snap to Measure
AddNumber=1                  ; 0=No, 1=add (2), (3), (4) ... to marker name if there are previous markers with the same name
LockToSMPTE=0               ; 0 =No, 1=Yes, lock to SMPTE

Key Bindings Dialog
Function:
Insert | Marker   - the old one
Insert | Marker1 - new functions that are dynamically created from AUD.INI data
Insert | Marker2
Insert | Marker3
Insert | Marker4
Insert | Marker5
