If you have all those names, then you have none at all.
Walk away. Stay away.
Don't return until you've gotten back to zero.
This inability to decide is telling you something.
The name will come when it comes.
It may be untitled.

Oops, sorry, I should be clear. All those names were names for individual songs from friends (partly) and others just cool names I came up with flipping through the dictionary.... not necessarily names for the album.

But that's kind of a cool idea, "Untitled".... hmmm....

Sure.
What I mean is a name will come organically, out of the subconscious or unconscious, by way of process. If a name doesn't present itself, to me, that means it doesn't have one. An inappropriate title may detract from the music. Instrumental music often speaks best for itself.

Maybe find a theme, and then assign names to the tracks as expressions of various aspects or concepts.
What were you feeling when you wrote the songs?

For those of you interested, posted one more song last night and called it "103" since it fell on page 103 in my book. A real name will come later:

From the moment I've played the four chord progression that is the "meat" of this song it's reminded me of some movie theme, but I can't place it ( I IV/I V I ). Anyone? (Or perhaps it's the same chord progression used in MANY movie themes!)

Hi Sam,

Listened to your musicals loved all 3 big decision on a title but after looking thru the list I like the following. So try and narrow it down to these and see what kind of feed back you get----Silet Words----Troubled Heart-------Calling You Home----Outside My Reach---

I lean more towards TROUBLED HEART

i can only name one violin instrumental album - "the violin player", by vanessa-mae. why? she's hot. =)

Now I'm thinking about posing in a speedo swimsuit on the cover... would that sell my CD?

you know if this is your first album you could always just leave the title off. a lot of debut albums do that.

Well I have a solo piano album, all instrumental. I named the songs for whatever inspired me or whatever I was thinking when I wrote it. I played a piece for someone (about waiting in the garden for a friend of mine who is perpetually late) and she said.... oh, kinda like a "Blue Garden" which turned out to be much cooler than the dorky name I was considering. So, that became the name of the song and the album. Soooo, think about playing some music for people and see what it reminds them of.
Whatever name you pick some will love it some won't.....but all of your friends will demand to know what it means and how you thought of the title..... I guarantee it!

Talk is cheap; supply outweighs the demand.

Light travels faster than sound, that's why some people look bright before you hear them speak.

Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys, Andy Reid owns them!!

I kind of like "Keys to the Kingdom" ...

For the kind of project you're doing, it beats a rock piano title like "Put the Hammers Down"

A little tweeking on these, and they could be cooler:

33 - "serious thought", to "Serious"
36 - "then came the morning", to "Then Morning"
43 - "silent words" - (I don't know, here.)
44 - "the world is changing" - to "The Changing"
46 - "listen well" - to "Listen"

Ray Charles once said that the best lyrics are the ones that can be taken several ways.
I bet the best song titles are the same, words that could mean several different things.

"Stainless" stood out to me. ?Steel? ?Clothing? ?Sinless? What's he talking about?
