Native American Stomp (Now with 31 Tracks)

I re-mixed this old 24-track  tune of mine after adding six more fiddle tracks and another bass track. It now has 31 tracks. The fiddles and bass stand out better now. (I had to be careful not to bury the drums) I also added harmony to the 2nd and 3rd verses and mega fiddles on the outro.   I hope you like it!

That's pretty cool. I noticed how that guitar effect goes back and fourth too.

Another cool song by Scotty , love the fiddle in this one and guitar mixed in .

Great piece of work , wish I could get my synth fiddles to sound that real but it doesn't even sound close to the real thing .

Fantastic. My feet were dancing from the first note. The mix and balance are perfect and I love the way the fiddles seem to step forward and dance. My only puzzle is why "Native American"? This is Irish music at its best. Full of zest and fun. I could easily imagine this being played at a Ceili to thunderous applause. Even a feature at Riverdance!

    Best Regards

    Janet,
    Thank you very much!

    Robby,
Glad you liked it. That panned guitar effect represents the sound of arrows flying through the air and the bow being drawn back.

    Stratrat,
Thank you very much for the high praise! Glad you enjoyed it.

    Radio,
Thanks for listening. I know it must me nearly impossible to get synth strings to sound real. Larry Alexander has some fairly realistic ones though. I'm not sure which ones he uses though.

    Malcolm,
Thank you very much! The verses do aound a bit celtic, don't they?   I do believe that the intro, outro and choruses are certainly Native American though.

Somewhere in this country someone will protest this saying it sterotypes Indians because of the "Hollywood" sterotypical drum beat and opening chords, but I think it's a nice tribute.

31 tracks?!  I think I hear your CPU missing on a couple of cylinders

Actually with my new DAW I have it a track limit yet.  Thank god my needs are simple.

    Daryl,
Chances of a protest are probably slim to none, since I did this as a tribute to our native American friends.

This was recorded on someone else's 24-track DAW and mixed by the two of us, but I never liked the way the mix came out, so I loaded up the stereo master tracks and added to the mix.

Hi Scotty, what a tour de force, great job. Celtic immigrants meeting native Americans for the first time and having a jolly "knees up", was the first thing I thought of while hearing this piece.Would also make a great soundtrack for a western(movie).

Oh yes I remember the piece he did with fiddle in it , I remember it sounded almost real for a synth fiddle.
I'll have to ask him where I might find it if he doesn't mine telling me .

Thanks. Yes, a western movie sound track for sure. That was going on in my head when I wrote this. I like your idea about the Celts meeting the Native Americans for a dance.

excellent epic modern but retro string music; love the little details like the guitar part, and the little upslurring you use just to give a little edge to the main tune. one of your best Scott!

Tim and Daryl, also liked your work. MGH not a metal guy but nice arranging. I don't know what makes good metal music.

Oh Yeah! Scotty. I hear you asking questions like I ask my wife: That sounds like .. . doesn't it? I say this to my wife. Man you can put the questioning to bed, YOU got it.

Have enjoyed listening to all you guys. Made my morning. Thanks!

    mgad7,
Thank you. glad you got some good listens in.

    Mr. Larry,
I think I got half of Burlington involved as well. LOL Thanks for the listen. I was only dealing with 9 tracks this time around, as the first 24 were mixed down to two. Then I added 7 more.

That's a real toe-tapper, Scotty. I like the almost demonic guitar(?) rolling around in the background. Very energetic, and a nice arrangement.

    Hi Scotty,

    24 tracks? 31 tracks?

It's a great song and great playing either way!

    Outstanding arrangement, too.

Very surprised at the change after the intro. Can't say I've heard that before.  All the little details are cool. Very enjoyable.

Absolutely terrific stuff Scotty.  I like Rik's take on the song -- the Celts meet the Native Americans to have a "jolly knees up".  It does sound like you have written a positive moment in history.  The interplay of the fiddles and the guitars are wonderful as is the song, performance, and the job you did on mixing it all together.
    Nice one!!!
