[Edit] Update of BA went fine. Opened up BA and got notification of never version(of BA), and chose to update to version 3.0.9. What bothers me though, is that for a long time i don't see anything happening during the update (of BA) ... wondering if something has gone wrong ... the suddenly everything just falls in place at the speed of light. I would prefer a more classic install style, with an indication of the update/installation process (for BA). Similar to what we have for CbB. Things might look different for people on a fiberoptic internet connection with a high performace PC, I'm not. More mid, to lower specs by todays standard.

Something must be going on.
Mine felt/appeared as a "normal" install with immediate progress bar for download follwed by typical Cake dialogue to select language/install options and our old progress bar displaying unpacking/install info.
I wonder why this is not seen by everyone?
I'm on win 8.1

I'm also having the problem where the install doesn't work - when loaded, it appears as greyed out with the Windows logo cycling in the middle... Any solutions to this yet?

Win 7 system here. Band Lab assistant downloaded and installed just fine. Went to down load CbB and it got to 70% and the download status bar disappeared. I had to perform a re-start to get back to an update dialogue in Bandlab assistant - went to 94% and my ISP stalled - did a restart again to get to an update dialogue - then it flew just fine and installed. I figure the issues were most likely ISP related, but Band Lab assistant wasn't able to re-set to allow a Cbb update by just relaunching. I'm very grateful for the status bar ! I'm sure the download will become more robust as time goes. Great work Bakers. Pretty amazing what you've been able to accomplish in just a few months.

Had to manually download BandLab (BA just sat there saying it was checking but nothing happened over 5minutes) from the site to get the 3.09 update and CbB showing as up to date. There are add ons showing but they’re the same as have been available all along.

I'm happy for those who downloaded and installed this latest update with no problems. I tried and got the same thing as last time I updated: a pulsing "downloading" thingy, and after an hour of that I gave up. I am happy with what I have. If and when they get it to the point where it works for everyone, I'll update.

Have you tried disabling your antivirus software. I know that on my machine Norton can be a real pain in the butt with false positives. Often times halting certain aspects of an installation. p.s. I'm a fellow Mainer

I also have the problem that bandlab assistant is greyed out with the Windows logo cycling round in the middle. I tried uninstalling ba and then reinstalling latest version, but with same result. I think this may have happened after the latest Windows 10 update. Has anybody found an answer to this yet?

Bandlab's Assistant possible is blocked from Internet. Show Antivirus and Firewall Rules on your System. I'am self had ESET Internet Security. Every time when bandlab has updated i must free up Bandlab on ESET Firewall . If you only runs Windows Defender/Firewall, then you can control Internet transactions within Windows Firewall Preferences or you can download a helper tool like this: Windows Firewall Controlhttps://www.binisoft.org/wfc.php

I tried completely disabling my firewall before reinstalling BandLab Assistant. It made no difference. Also I use exactly the same internet security software on my desktop computer and don't have this problem there, although that is running an earlier version of Assistant (I'm afraid to update it, given what's happened on my laptop)

I just updated to the new CbB version but had to back out of it first pass. Doing the custom installation, none of the "Browse" buttons actually do anything (not sure if this is a setting somewhere?). I installed only R-Mix from X2 yesterday, but doing that changed my Cakewalk plugin path to having "/R-Mix" at the end as the default directory. Unable to change that there, I backed out and editted the registery manually, then installed CbB.

I have now sorted out the problem of the greyed out Bandlab Assistant with the cycling Windows logo. Here is what I did:- 1. I uninstalled Bandlab Assistant (from Control Panel) 2. I manually deleted two bandlab assistant folders that were not deleted by the uninstall process. These were located in users/(username)/AppData/Roaming 3. I installed BA 3.0.9 again Now Bandlab Assistant opened properly and I was able to log in as normal

I love reading people solving their own problems. How many people would go searching in users/(username)/AppData/Roaming ? Most wouldn't. Good save!
