Looks more Z3TA inpired w/ the waveform and twist and warp knobs.  Cake might have a problem w/ Rene's later synths since we don't know the terms of his contract.  They bought RGC's Z3TA and then brought him aboard where he did Dimension and Rapture.  Anyway, should be fun.  I hope it is a replacement for all three synths, more waves, presets and control.  Touch control pad.

It looks like Z3ta+ and has touch  capability... I would be surprised if it wasn't a tablet Z3TA.

Yeah for realz, all my gear pr0n now seems to only have iPad based junk.

That said, I'd love it if it were a real synth. DimPro, Rapture, and Z3ta are in pretty much every project I do now. I think DimPro could use the most updating...but sheesh I love new toys!

Seems like a possible hardware version of z3TA+... also for the warp/twist knobs.

I am not too keen on hardware purchases anymore with VST3 myself... this "appears" to be a piece of hardware??

It won't be $5, and it's pretty amazing that a mobile platform can actually run Z3ta+. Why drag a 50 pound rack PC or screw around with a laptop and interface, when you can just bring an ipad along with your controller to a gig?

Seth

I would have assumed you would need a decent audio interface??? Something like a Roland Duo capture or this new bit of kit from Focusrite. Or can you really get decent sound with low latency out the iPad headphone jack?

Intel i7 3770K @4.4GHz, 32GB RAM, 240GB SSD System disk, 2 x 2TB and 1 x 1TB (with SSD Cache) HDD. Windows 10,  Sonar Platinum. Roland Quad Capture.

Yup, the iPad headphone out could go straight to a DI > FOH, in a performance scenario.

Edit: I've been testing it the last few days with the iRig KEYS controller. It's pretty fantastic and I'm not an Apple, Synth, or keyboard guy.

I don't understand all the iPhone/iPad hate. I have had my phone for almost 3 years and it's paid for itself many times over in terms of being able to run my business on the go without having to drag heavy laptops around etc. The amount of use I've had out of it is phenomenal. I even use it as a Kindle, no need to carry an extra device around. I'm all for audio apps on mobile platforms, they're just another welcome tool in today's incredible arsenal of music tools.

Although this does not help me, it is smart for Cakewalk to open more revenue streams.  Like it or not, ios apps are profitable and popular.  Hopefully android will catch up in the multimedia areas.  Caustic is decent.   At it's roots, Android is Linux and theoretically capable of being just as powerful.  I suspect the fact that Samsung is no longer taking a backseat to Apple (at least in the phone dept) will lead to them wanting to be more competitive.  Cakewalk having a foot in the door may eventually lead to even more platforms and possibilities.  I was hoping for a sampler but hoping the new product does well.
