New CbB release today
Fired up BandLab Assistant today and once it updated itself to 3.08, I noticed there was a new Cakewalk release, so I installed it. I notice the expiry date in the about box has been replaced with "Free - Activated by BandLab Assistant" and the following are now available in the new "Install Addons" menu: - Studio Instruments Suite
- Drum Replacer
- Melodyne
- Theme Editor
The melodyne install actually tried to re-install melodyne itself - not just CbB's integration. I picked "Repair" so it would effectively leave my copy of Melodyne Editor alone, whilst returning a success back to the CbB installer. Everything seems to work perfectly in any case. Does anyone know if there's anything new in these or the new CbB installers, i.e. bug fixes etc, or are they just some of the missing components now being made available? M.

Funny they didn't put a sticky yet or update the ones above. Will have to give it a spin myself. Thanks for the heads up. I can just see the forum lighting up like a Christmas tree over the next week now :)

Got it! Installed theme edit and drum replace. In Splat, theme editor is available in the Utilities menu... I do not see it there in CbB. Anybody got it?

It is not automatically added to the Utilities menu. The Theme Editor is called using the Edit button on Preferences > Customization > Themes It is possible to add it to the Utilities menu by editing the registry or using my SONARToolsEditor, There is a link to the utility on the Sonar Resources and Utilities thread.

So far CbB seems stable with the update. Also no probs for me from Assistant (which was giving me dropouts in CbB.)

With Splat it was added to the utility menu for me without me having to mess with the reg.

I just noticed the update earlier today. Only just running it now. I am a bit surprised there isn't a sticky about it, but I guess they are too busy to do that. It seems Pow-r dither is back which users had requested and which BL promised they would fix. This seems to be an update based on user feedback so far which seems fair enough to me. BL seems to listen to us users more than any other CW owner in the past. I think that's a good thing!

I happened on it by accident today as well. However, the CbB update stalled and I had to un-install, then the install went without a hitch. I had only just installed CbB, and it was running in demon mode. With the Assistant update and the new install I'm now up and running just fine! Even got my FW-1884 working in Win10x64 and CbB is now happily being controlled by the 1884. Whoo Hoo! T

. . . just installs directly through from the BandLab Assistant, no separate download seen here. . . . 4 "new" optional add ons, as stated above (OK they are things most of us had before)
Cakewalk by Bandlab, Cubase, RME Babyface Pro, Intel i7 3770K @3.5Ghz, Asus P8Z77-VPro/Thunderbolt, 32GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 250 GB OS SSD, 2TB HDD samples, Win 10 Pro 64 bit, backed up by Macrium Reflect, Novation Impulse 61 Midi Key Controller, Tannoy Active Near Field Monitors, Guitars by Vantage, Gibson, Yamaki and Ovation.

Not advisable. There is a reason it doesn't exist in the tools menu. Its not compatible with SONAR and will cause confusion if its there.

DeeringAmps However, the CbB update stalled and I had to un-install, then the install went without a hitch.
Same here and I am glad that it did. By uninstalling, I got to see the new CbB installer options. The new installer has the path options restored. Anyone wanting to install the program or content to an alternate location now have the option to do so on their initial install.

I'm not seeing the theme editor here. Does there need to be an added install ? as well as for drum replacer? I'm coming from Sonar Pro originally but Ive been utilizing CbB since it was first available. I am seeing PowR dither choices - so I'm assuming the install worked ( 24.04.1 build 28 ). Any hints ?
