I think yes.
There are an infinite amount of reverberant spaces on Earth that need to be accurately simulated.
Your music will never be the best it can be unless you have the ability to simulate most of these spaces.
I think that the Pro-R will be able to simulate some of the spaces that you currently cannot simulate.

Seriously, I'm in. I can't wait to try it out!

I actually don't have a good reverb! I just use the stock reverbs that comes with Logic and this Waves thing that was a freebie a while ago (last year maybe?). I have RP-Verb but it get's too weird to use for normal reverb use. This looks like it will be a great go to-verb, considering how awesome everything else FabFilter is.

Very true. With FF Pro-R, Zynaptiq Adaptiverb, D16 Toraverb, T-RackS Hall (and Plate), ValhallaRoom, Übermod and iZotope's plate reverb for vocals, I guess I'm set. However ...

I'm a FF fan, too, but there's no way I'd pronounce Pro-R my new go-to reverb without even hearing it first!

And it'll take some convincing. I already have more reverbs than I need, including some very good ones. The one thing that could make Pro-R compelling would be deep modulation capabilities that turn it into a creative effect, similar to what they did for distortion with Saturn or for delays with Timeless.

For me it's the EQ integration. I know FF have that covered. Should prove very interesting.
As for modulation, loving Valhalla Übermod.

I'm curious. What did you find most impressive? The presentation itself certainly was, as are all of Dan's productions.

I like the early/late dual-EQ concept, but beyond that I couldn't identify anything that other reverbs can't do. I'll reserve judgement until I've had a chance to demo it myself, but for the moment I'm not feeling the enthusiasm everyone else is expressing.

First of all, everything FabFilter has the best GUI in my opinion and seeing a reverb with a FabFiltered layout is very appealing to me. It sounds really nice in the video and considering my list of reverbs (I must add the Tsar-1R to that) this looks like a big step up ;)

The Decay Rate EQ looks awesome! That's probably what I am most curious about - besides the effect it self of course. I can't wait to demo this thing.

It's just a reverb, how interesting can it be, but considering what I have, this really intrigues me ;)

For me, it was the depth control (maybe it was called distance?).  Notice that there seemed to be zero explicit control over early reflections.  Instead, there appears to be a algorithm that adjusts early reflection content appropriately as to whether you want things up front or in the rear.  Introducing varying depth when using a conventional reverb is somewhat of an art.  Pro-R takes all the guesswork out - anybody can easily get the results, assuming it works as advertised.  Given that this is Fab Filter we're talking about, that is almost a certainty.

Isn't "depth" just an alternate label for what other reverbs call "predelay" or "early/late"? Maybe they've found an extra parameter we don't know about, or their depth control also applies a LPF or something. Won't know till we get our hands on it. I know you're looking forward to doing just that ;)

Both predelay (for which it looks like Pro-R allows explicit control) and ER levels are part of the alchemy (and EQ is also in the picture).  Use longer predelay for front placement and higher level ERs for rear placement.  It's not clear whether Pro-R's depth control does anything with predelay, but since there seems to be no way to control ER levels (or ER/tail balance), it seems safe to assume that depth at least has an impact on ER level.

If FF has nailed making it easy to dial in believable front/back perception ... then sweet!  Can't wait to try it out.
