The ASIO buffer only goes down to 192, but with that i can get and play and record at 2.0Msecs with a total round trip latency at 7.1msecs, 681 samples. The driver i was using form 2 updates ago was getting a 5.7msec total round trip at a ASIO buffer of 64. I may revert back, but i just got it and will play with it for a few days or weeks

edit. They did fix the Cue mix. now when you adjust the trim in the cue mix it stays at the setting..Thats a good thing

Well, I've downloaded it also. But I'm not installing until I know if it "moves me forward" instead of backward as the last update did. I (and, I'm sure, others) appreciate your courage in taking the hit for us CJ, ol pal. Keep us informed and I've got my fingers crossed for ya!

I'm curious about that, too. I'm still using 3.6.7.4 for just that reason. I wish MOTU would post some release notes!

I'm getting a sonar effective latency: 2.2 msec

a quick test with cEntrance (round-trip):
    Measurement results: 328 samples / 7.44 ms(@ 44kHz)
    Measurement results: 328 samples / 7.44 ms(@ 48kHz)
    Measurement results: 328 samples / 3.42 ms (@ 96kHz)

crazy jump down to 3.42 ms at 96KHz.....CJ you getting that too?

    compared to the previous driver:

    sonar effective latency: 2.9 msec

a quick test with cEntrance (round-trip):
    Measurement results: 424 samples / 9.61 ms (@ 44kHz)
    Measurement results: 424 samples / 8.83 ms (@ 48kHz)
    Measurement results: 846 samples / 8.81 ms (@ 96kHz)

Well, I must be at 7.44ms effective latency cause I'm running at 2.9ms (44.1)using WDM in Sonar on the new drivers. Yea, I installed em. I had ants in my pants.

    Hi-

FWIW, I saw this on the MOTU forum:
The new drivers have hardware calls to the MKIII dsp hardware which double the latency whether your unit has the hardware or not. For pre MKIII units it is probably best to use the 3.6.7.x driver.

and since I have a pre-MKIII Ultralite I'm going to leave mine alone!

    That's ~12ms round-trip latency at 44.1k
    Loosely translated as "El Sucko"...

If you have a pre mkIII unit, stick with the same old 3.6.7.4 driver.
New drivers are a major step backwards...

Wow, my Alesis IO26 now has better roundtrip latency. I believe when I checked with Centrance tool, at 44.1 - 128 samples it was around 10ms roundtrip.
I'll check tonight if anyone wants the specific results. At work now.

So here I am with the new driver, and the only other I have is on the disk which came with my mkII. Does anyone have the 3.6.7.4 driver?

I tried the new driver last night. I use the SPDIF output from the MOTU. With all my same settings,
no audio seems to route to the SPDIF outputs on the MOTU. The pass thru analog works
to SPDIF, but nothing from Sonar.
I rolled back the my original driver for the Ultralite III, things were fine.
Since this is my method, I can`t use the newest driver unless someone here
knows the answere on the SPDIF.

    Hmm one things odd...

    Using the ultralite MKIII here..

Normally my music is sent out on the main outs... but the ultralite shows its on analog out 1 & 2.

Checked the audio console and the main out is configured as main out! ?

I also tried to change form main out to anlog 1&2 out in sonar.... ultralite responded by placing it on 3 &4? any ideas?

    EDIT:

    Tried the Wasapi drivers out..

For some reaosn it wouldn't again allow me to use the wavert drivers for the main out..
Checked in sound settings for vista64 that the they wren't exlusive.

Where can I find a copy of the old 3.6.7.4 driver?
I can't find my backup disk and its no longer on my harddrive.

I checked the website and it only seems to have the latest version...

If its no longer available, could some kind soul share a copy?

    Thanks,

I've been in contact with MOTU about the newest ASIO drivers shifting the outputs one-over, 1/2 outputs to 3/4, 3/4 outputs to 5/6, etc... I spoke with them this past Monday, March 16th 2009 and they were able to repro and confirm the issue and are working on getting the problem fixed. They told me to keep checking their website for news and newly posted drivers but there was no timeline as to when. The issue is that the audio drivers and the hardware meters are all offset.

    Selecting:
Audio Driver Main Out 1/2 = playback metering/audio displayed/heard on Analog 1/2 on the Ultralite
Audio Driver Analog 1/2 = playback metering/audio displayed/heard on Analog 3/4 on the Ultralite
Audio Driver Analog 3/4 = playback metering/audio displayed/heard on Analog 5/6 on the Ultralite
Audio Driver Analog 5/6 = playback metering/audio displayed/heard on Analog 7/8 on the Ultralite
Audio Driver Analog 7/8 = playback metering/audio NOT DISPLAYED OR HEARD AT ALL on the Ultralite
Audio Driver S/PDIF = playback metering/audio displayed/heard on Main L/R on the Ultralite

The following webpage over at the MOTUNATION website has a link to the 3.6.7.3 driver...

I got this update, and I was with Motu for a long while on the phone exchanging phone calls back n forth.. and I have a couple of things to share.. I understand someone said they can only go down to 192 for buffers.. I can still reach lower than 192 buffers with a 1.5ms. However, I did find a glitch that Motu has failed to mention and they said it will be fixed.. The glitch is very complex but if anyone is having trouble with the old drivers after you install the new ones (ie: rollback to old drivers), along with using Vista "don't worry it will be fixed" lets just say in the Root directory the com.motu and your system 32 files, there is a dup of a copy an it is named differently so either old driver and vista sees it differently which corrosponds the Cuemix and SMPTE console to act differently..

however, I got fixed and I'm running with the new drivers without a glitch, There are other issues when installing the new mk3 drivers if you have BPM or Ethno, that problem will be fixed also..

Has anyone used this driver for the 2408mk3? I installed the new driver. The new Cue Mix is supposed to have a few new goodies, but my Cue Mix stayed the same. Maybe mine isn't capatible with the new drivers?

Are you sure it stayed the same? Mine looks the same but under edit tab (I can't remember right now the name of the tabs) you will see the spectrum anaylzer, and etc..
