I tried it with a purple ps/2 keyboard adapter. No luck... the keyboard tested fine in a usb port. I really wanted this keyboard to control Sonar and a Roland VS2480 through a KVM switch.... poop....

Make a backlit one and I'm in.

+1

I have a backlit keyboard for my studio pc, and at work my MacBook pro has a backlit keyboard too.  I'm so used to it now, and it's especially convenient in low lit situations which is my preferred way of working.

Wow, sorry to hear it.  That really surprises me.  You don't have the PS/2 port turned off somehow, by any chance?  In your system's bios settings?

Update on my DOA keyboard:  I never received a response to my email to CW support, so I gave them a call.  They entered an order to ship me a new unit, and even though they said it was backordered and wouldn't arrive until after the 15th, it arrived yesterday.  This one works fine, and looks great.  Looking forward to learning the new keyboard (and unlearning all the old shortcuts.)

Thanks, CW!

Agreed that $125 is ludicrous. $50 US would have seemed a lot for a keyboard, but this is just way too much. I understand that this is a limited market and that the quantities would keep the costs up for the custom parts, but this is, IMHO, far too high a price for what you actually are getting. My old AVID system came with a custom keyboard [of course it costs thousands of dollars i nth first place...] as part of the package. Call me a cheap whiner if you like, but I'm not in position to splurge on this.

My two keyboard question was because one keyboard can be used for typing while the other is there for commands and can be put on a tray...  so I can move it around the console... It would be even cooler if a wireless version was available.. Thanks.

Note, if you connect a PS2 device (mouse or keyboard), you have to reboot your machine as these devices are detected by BIOs at startup.
Once detected, you can plug and unplug them while the PC is up without any issues.
Just remember to leave them plugged in when you shutdown. ;)

Too expensive and should be backlit - studios are dark dingy places
