Can I run two keyboards nowaday? With USB being so easy? And can I run one ANSI keyboard and one in a Querty mode? Wouldn't that be luxurious?

I don't see why you couldn't. One keyboard for each hand!

Oh, good news, Seth! I'm gonna eventually get that keyboard, but next month is already planned out financially.

    Helpful blog info, too.

Very nice I'm probably gonna buy it anyway, but it would be nice with some more pictures and specs.

    Hi Jesse,
I've been on that site and that's what left me wanting a bit more information. From the picture it's a bit hard to get a real impression of how the keyboard looks in real life and I would like some information about dimensions and weight and if it's wireless - which it's probably not, since it comes with a usb cable (although there's no cable in the pic).
All in all I guess I just want to be more tempted as a potential customer. Take a look at this site : http://www.editorskeys.com/audio-editing-keyboards/dedicated-pro-tools-keyboard.html#Pro. That's close to what I had in mind.
But as I said, I will probably get this thing sooner or later anyway.

    Kind regards from...

I ordered the keyboard and will have it perhaps by the end of the week. I zoomed in on the picture and can see how everything is laid out and I like what i see. My current unlabeled keyboard is USELESS to me as I can't remember any bindings at all. I am REALLY looking forward to this. I know Cakewalk made this just for me - because they know I am a burnout who needs help like this all the time. thanks Cakewalk and Logic and Roland. Thanks for nothing Pro Tools and Apple!

Most likely it will not. I forget why off hand, but I've tried that before and it didn't work. I did some searching on the web after, and found that, unlike USB mice, most USB keyboards will NOT work with an adaptor to PS2... even if the adaptor is specifically designed as a keyboard adaptor. Unless someone tries it and says this keyboard specifically does, I wouldn't count on it.

The keyboard arrived, and I'm very very happy with it. It is built well, with low profile keys like on a laptop, and - surprise - it has two additional usb ports on each side of it - so I put my mouse in one and a usb stick in the other and that freed up two ports on my computer. The keyboard appears to have a brushed metal top, and I got the color code key chart with it and now everything makes perfect sense. I just love having the keys labeled like this. Oh yes, and you can put your spare keyboard in one of the extra usb side ports and use two keyboards at the same time. Or your Shuttle Pro. Absolute home run Cakewalk (by Roland) !!!

I've never had a problem with any USB keyboard using a PS/2 adapter.  It frees up a USB port and, in my opinion, works better all around.  Bear in mind, there are two types of USB-to-PS/2 adapters, (specifically for either mice or keyboards) and if you use the wrong one, it won't work.  Often they're color-coded: purple for keyboard, green for mouse.  Since this is essentially a normal keyboard, I see no reason it wouldn't work with the proper adapter.  But...if it has a built in USB hub, as someone mentioned, obviously that won't work if you go PS/2.

No offense Cake, but $125 for a keyboard is just ludicrous...

Those who have money to burn obviously are Ok with it...

    Just my opinion...

I only paid $30 for my Bluetooth Keyboard...and it's wireless....

Just sell me template for $4.99 (which I really don't need either)

Mine arrived a few days ago, really looked great out of the box.  Unfortunately it was DOA.  Tried different USB ports, different computers (Ports I know to have full power output capability), still nothing.  The caps lock and numlock LEDs do not light, the keyboard part does nothing, but the USB hub functionality seems to work.

Anyone know if I return this to Cakewalk (bought it from the webstore) or if I have to return it to Logickeyboard?  Or am I missing some sort of on/off switch somewhere?

When you plugged it in did the windows driver install? I would return it to the return address on the box. That would be Cakewalk I think, as my box is already in a landfill.

It installed the USB hub driver, but I didn't see it recognize the keyboard.  Even without a driver the LEDs for capslock and numlock will usually work on a keyboard if it is plugged in (there's an internal microcontroller that handles that among other things.)  So I'm pretty sure it's DOA.  I sent an email to CW customer service to get an RMA number or whatever I need to send it back.

    Thanks!

I agree $125 for a keyboard, even a specialized keyboard such as this, is over the top.

Plus I hate laptop keyboards and according to posts this is designed like a laptop keyboard.

Well, I tend to agree.  On the other hand, it does look like a top-shelf keyboard, to begin with, and when you add the printing and color-coding--not to mention the spify Cakewalk logo--the price may not be quite into the "ludicrous" range.  Pricey, for certain.  I bet they will wind up on the sale rack sometime in the future, though.  Might be worth the wait.

Then again, it would be fairly easy to make something functional at home.  You can always pick up decent, ordinary keyboards for next to nothing.  Grab one, spray paint the keys for color-coding (take them off the board, first, LOL), then either hand-paint what you want on them, OR simply pick up some neon keyboard decals ($10 at Microcenter) and stick them on.  Kinda fun, really.  Well, if you're into that kinda thing, which personally I'm not.   :)

There's always Editors Keys. great fro when a new version of SONAR makes the previous Keybindings obsolete as in SONAR 8.5 to X1

Shame the keyboard's not available outside the US. Well at least not in Australia ie according to the Australian distributor, Intelliware.

Those decals look like they came out of a cereal box... but worth a look at all the same.

This product is currently back-ordered due to unprecedented demand. Keyboards may not ship until June 15th 2012.

Seems like they're pretty popular.  And I have to confess, they do look pretty cool.  It's not at the top of my priority list right now, but if I had the extra clams I'd snatch one.

IMHO the photo on Amazon doesn't do them justice.  I've got 'em & they look pretty good (except the cat likes to try to chew them off, lol).  I did put a custom clear plastic cover over my keyboard first to allow for future changes.
