Echoing the comments above about the expressiveness and honesty in your voice. I'd add a touch of verb to that sax to soften it a bit, just my opinion and a matter of taste of course. I did not hear the original mix but this one sounds pretty good to me.

ohgrant Oh yea that Timbo remix really sweetened this up. Oh my that's smokey and sweet, awesome job It's good to know people who know what they're doing! Because I have no clue? Sometimes I swerve in to a good mix? But it's purely accidental :-( Some folks, like Tim, James, and Frank, "all of their stuff sounds pro." I'm honored to have the help and really pleased with how this one came out :-) Thanks Grant!

evadianepug I usually don't critique mixes because I listen with my heart and not my ears on most songs. Make sense? Of course my heart knew that the first mix (Robby's) posted up here didn't do justice to the song or Robby's vocals. Then I hear JYoYos mix and things were revealed in the song that got to my heart. Now Tim's mix does the same thing. Both mixes improved the vocal track's treatment. Soooooo.. I can't pick one and I don't have to because both mixes allowed my heart to be moved by a wonderful song. I don't give technical advice and couldn't here if I wanted. Two different mixes, both excellently done! Warren Peace, yeah I agree with you on listening with your heart, because you'll hear things that you'll miss if you only use your ears. Thanks very much and keep on Puggin!

Very seldom a song will come along, a song that makes you stand up and take notice, a song that you have to listen to again and again. A song that inspires you to want to do better and improve as a composer. This is that song Robby.
Listened to the top one "Just a lie - reimaged Timbo" which left me Mesmerised and Speechless. Mark.

geeare1 Hey Robby, Just ran the "Just A Lie" marathon...listened to all three versions back to back. It's cool to hear 3 different takes of such a great tune. Regardless of who did the mixing, the quality of the songwriting and the sparseness of the arrangement really allow your vocal and lyrics to shine. Excellent work. Gary, I'm so glad you liked it, I am such a fan of your talent on the guitar.

Tap Nice work Robby, Jim and Tim. Excellent vocs Robby. I think there are different aspects of both Jim's and Tim's mixes that I really like. I think Jim's is truer to the overall composition, whereas Tim's concentrates on each individual contribution. Really fine performances and productions. Tippity Tap Tap Tap! Glad to see you listening!! And I agree wholeheartedly that both are artisans and masters of the universe in different ways. I have tremendous respect for several folks here, and these two are at and or very near the tippy top of the **** stick. For shizile, I would love to just be a performer and a writer producer and have access to technical geniuses who can polish it. Maybe one day my ship will come in and I can pay people to make me sound good :-) Markno999 has some pretty good performance and mixing skills too, I've really enjoyed my colabs w/him. So many amazing people here, which is really "around the world..." Thanks again very much for listening and for commenting.

One thing I wanted to hear under the keys at the ending every time....little sprinkle of that rain maker used in the opening. Great job by all involved!! PG

From Office Space (1999) Bob Slydell: Would you bear with me for just a second, please? Peter Gibbons: OK. Bob Slydell: What if - and believe me this is a hypothetical - but what if you were offered some kind of a stock option equity sharing program. Would that do anything for you? Peter Gibbons: I don't know, I guess. Listen, I'm gonna go. It's been really nice talking to both of you guys. Bob Slydell: Absolutely, the pleasure's all on this side of the table, trust me. I'm coming in late, after remixes were done, but it sound great to me. Love the vox particularly. The first few seconds of the song is almost a turnoff because it sounds so depressing which it's supposed to) but then the song quickly sucked me in. Only critique I have is the acoustic maybe needs a little eq, to my ears.
