gdugan - Thank you very much Gary - I'm going to skip harmonies on this one, but my instinct was to add them. theguitarplayer - Thanks for stopping by John - it was a fun song to do. jamesg1213 - Thanks James, and now a vote for the current rhythm sound. Now I don't know what to do Venus - Thank you for listening and commenting, and I like the 'la la' section as well. My tribute to 'Simple Minds'. foxwolfen - Hi Shad - thanks for stopping by and commenting. I think I agree about the drums maybe having a little more punch, so I'll check into that. Regarding the vocal, I was looking for a different sound, so I was trying out various eq cuts - bit of experimentation. No How - Your ears are always appreciated, and you're probably right on the solo - it depends on the speakers and the mood of my ears on that one. Apologies to everybody for my late replies - I had family from out of town since Thursday night staying at my place, so I had to entertain, play the DC tour guide, cook, etc. Thanks to everybody - I really, really do appreciate it Edit: misspell

All around great job. I tend to think I'd like to hear the vocals more up front, although the words are easy to hear. So that doesn't make sense, but I guess I don't know how to explain it. Love the guitar solo!

Mamabear - Thanks Janet - I was trying to get a 'wierd' vocal sound - like you said, the lyrics are clear, but it's kind of thin - I may change it.

This is an excellent pop rock tune, and deserves a bump... The mix is very good... I love the sound of the bass and kick... Cool lead ride too... Well done Douglas...

Hey Doug! I haven't had much time to spend on the forum lately so I missed this before and I'm glad the post is still getting some hits so I didn't miss this. This is great - vocals, guitar, drums, mix, songwriting - everything sounds great!! I wasn't crazy about the synth at first but it really grew on me. Nice job!! Dave www.soundclick.com/steakbone

I'm back for a second listen. Doug, that is one great tune and sounding mix. You did a excellent job on the vox and how it sits. The verb used on the lead vocal sounds just perfect. If you don't mind me asking how many tracks did it take to get the vox to sound that way and what verb did you use. THANKS AGAIN and SUPER JOB! LATER Kev

Doug I have to agree that something needs to be done with that guitar on the left, I think that if the effect was altered a bit to give it a cleaner sound after it played the riff a few times after the vox start, that the piece would get better. I still like the piece, I just think that the lowness of that effect distracts from everything else. Everything else works great and if that is the sound you want throughout the piece, then ignore the above, Ron

dlogan - Thanks Dave - I had a feeling you were not a big synth guy, and neither am I actually drumstixkev Hey Kev, thanks for stopping by for a second listen. The verb on the lead vox is Cakewalk FX 'Medium Room' - it's tweaked, and I also have the Sonitus delay there. rolifer@verizon.net - Ron - I very recently discovered that guitar PodFarm doesn't save any adjustments I make once I close out a project (the fix is to save it as a user preset). Another problem I had was with tuning the high hats and rides for this particular kit, which gave me problems leading to the vox sounding out of pitch. --- I do have a sense of humor, but I listened three or four times before making my comments there. Go Terps!

Yo Doug, Cool rock song. Its a good song to start with. I like the spare arrangement and the keyboard part that floats above the GTR's. Good lead guitar part. Good stuff. Cheers, Bert
