I have many DAWS and Wave Editors, among them being Audio Audition 3 and Sound Forge 10c.
Honestly folks if you can do with SONAR what i can do with either AA or Sf then you must have quite a lot of specially written code in a version of SONAR I've never seen.
Just one Example. In SF I can take 1 audio file whlch could be individual, consecutive songs , define each by markers, process them with various fx (or other types of audio manipulation) select a type of output file, bit, depth, sample rate, etc and with the click of one buitton SF will process all my commands, creating new files with a naming convention of my choosing while I go off and have a sleep, lunch. or keep working on something else.
that's just one of the many and varied functions that wave editors have available for work that involves more than just creating content.
Imagine having to process a few hundred samples. SONAR would not be my tool of choice
