OK, I'll start. I'm almost as grateful to the selfless group of beta testers as I am the Cakewalk gang proper. I had the pleasure of being part of that esteemed group for versions 6-8.x, then Plat '15.06 on. I learned a ton from the beta team - a group that dwarfed my meager contributions and one that I am proud to have been associated with. Thanks guys for letting hang out with you!

I'll join in. I'm also proud to say that I was a BETA tester for this great program with a fantastic bunch of knowledgeable and passionate people. It's been an honor to have been part of this adventure, and being able to help the development of what SONAR became. (As Bob) I felt my contributions dwarfed the majority of the group, but there was always something to learn from those better than me. I'll miss it sorely. All the best.

For more than 5 years I have been lucky enough to be part of a very special team of Sonar users. We put in hours and hours of work making sure you would be happy with end result. I think it is imperative you know how hard the Bakers worked to deliver you a product that was the very best. They took your suggestions (as well as ours) in to consideration when making changes to the product. For myself I took it personally when I heard users say "Were not beta testers". No you were not. you have no idea the hours behind it. the fails, the retry's, then the success. More importantly, its been my honor to work with a group of users that worked very close with each other on problem solving issues to bring you the best possible versions of Sonar. That is the thing I will miss the most. Its been an honor gents

Well might as well reveal myself while everyone else is at it. I've been a beta tester for between 2 and 3 years. It's been an honor to preview and test the new features that have been rolled out during that time.

I'll raise my hand. It was an honour to be a part of the team and getting a good look at the hard work behind the scenes, and putting in a lot of hours trying to track down those annoying intermittent bugs that no one can seem to reproduce when anyone else is watching. (Quantum entangled bugs perhaps?) We've lost a passionate team of devs who, most importantly, were genuinely good people who really cared about making SONAR great. Really proud to have been a small part of their journey, and working with the other testers.

I was a beta tester from the first version of CWPA through version 9(?). It was good fun trying out new features and providing feedback, finding bugs, etc. My studio work dropped way off (life happens) and I was dropped when I couldn't put the required time in. I also got to develop the LUI (Little User Interface) application for the Yamaha DSP Factory (remember that soundcard?) that the Bakers made available to the users. There was some talk then of joining the Bakers as a developer, but nothing came of it.

I did beta testing in the early days. Stopping somewhere around 04 or 05. It was very cool in those days to call up Cakewalk (Twelve Tone Systems) during beta testing and have Greg Hendershott answer the phone. I know he had to be extremely busy but the man would take five minutes to talk to you about anything. :-) I seem to remember we used torrent in those days to download builds.

I was a beta tester during the past couple of years, not with Sonar, but on a few other minor CW products. Unfortunately whenever they gave me something to test I always seemed to be too busy to spend much time on it. And most of the bugs that I discovered had already been reported anyway. Overall I didn't really make a big contribution to the testing. Certainly nothing to brag about in my case.

I know from having read the Beta Testers information (freely available from Cakewalk on request), that you have to sign an NDA. Cakewalk has only stopped trading and development so isn’t that NDA still binding? Just asking.

It says nothing in the NDA about reveling your status as a tester. That was a request from staff. Article 5- section A+B states clearly not to share private information about the product, That's something which I will never do (even if we never hear of cakewalk again). Hope that clears up any confusion.
