Now time marker not visible

I read something about this in an earlier thread a few days ago but can't find it now.

I just finished installing new hard drives and reinstalling all of my software.  I didn't install X1...just installed X2.

All of a sudden my now time marker has disappeared in the TV.  I'm sure it's just a setting that I've inadvertently hit, but I can't find it and I need to see the marker to know where I'm at in the project.  It shows up and scrolls fine in the PRV and other views...just not in the TV.

I've seen the disappearing Now Time Marker myself on a few occasions. Not sure what triggers it.

Me too - it disappeared on an older project. I closed X2 and it was back when I reopened the project and nary a problem since...   DK

I was running X1 for about a year...then installed X2.  Never had this happen until I recently had to install new hard drives and reinstall all my software.

I saw here in the forums where someone else had mentioned it a few days ago.

So far it's working OK for now... :)

I can confirm this. Every now and then it either disappears or gets stuck. Restarting Sonar "fixes" it.  Bug...i'd say

This just happened to me a couple days ago, it just went invisible on me, everything else worked fine, then it came back after switching screensets a couple times.

I started seeing this early one. The older thread had some contributions from Bill Jackson of Cakewalk, and one of the recommendations that came out of the discussion was to set Visual Effects to "Adjust for best appearance" under Performance in Advanced System Settings.

Apparently the Now Time cursor depends on the "Enable Desktop Composition"setting, and if you let Windows manage these settings, it may disable this feature on the fly. I haven't had it enabled long enough to be sure it fixed the problem, but even if it does, I don't think it's good that it should be so dependent on having all the visual effects enabled.

I plan to file a Problem Report. The more reports, Cakewalk sees, the more likely they are to fix it.

I've seen it once here also. Closing and re-opening the project restored movement of the marker. I'll check the windows setting mentioned and see if it makes any difference.

As an in, the now time is wonky. I can't say specifically anything, but I'm pretty sure some bakers are aware of it :D

I have this problem all the time when I open the PRV to edit MIDI. As soon as I exit out of PRV the now time disappears. I hope they're aware of it. I don't like restarting every time.
