a moderator moved it to the Coffee House. But why??? The OP had a valid point when he posted to the main Sonar forum. That forum is nominally a "support" forum designed to let users share experiences problems and solutions. Putting it in the coffee house is like having the Pope open for George Carlin.

Putting it in the coffee house is like having the Pope open for George Carlin. I think you'd have to ask the mod who moved it why it was moved. I am not he. regardless of that, I question the "validity" of the point since the OP was made nearly two years ago. the complaint he was making was not about the current posters. does it mean it's a valid complaint today? maybe, but just because it was valid 2 years ago does not automatically mean it's valid today.

I find it ironic that some of the more "insulted" members weren't even members of the forum when the OP made the post. I agree with the OP. I think the personal insults such as we bear witness to in this thread should be moderated and discouraged. It seems to me that it's pretty easy to see who is here to be helpful and who is here to find another argument to excite their passions. In my opinion the OP was made in an effort to be helpful and many posters who responded demonstrated just how ugly being un-helpful can be. I am incapable of understanding why people enjoy wallowing in disagreement, so I no longer attempt to understand. I simply bear witness to the fact that it is quite obvious that some people are energized by the opportunity. I wish the forum software "block" function would hide all aspects of a post and not just the content. That way I could live and let live and simply be unaware of the well defined patterns of post and rebuttal that all the double green lines I see in most threads have come to represent. I also think it's excessively lame to moderate a thread by simply moving it rather than offering specific behavior modification suggestions to the posters who have chosen to make personal insults towards the OP and the OP's name. I think that sort of policy of hands off moderation reflects poorly on Cakewalk and that Cakewalk would do well to foster a more collegial atmosphere representative of the many interests of their end user clientele. regards, mike

The way I remember it was, a lot of people were having problems with "DAW 2.0" and there was almost 100% denial on Cakewalks part that was fueled by a handful of users that insisted everything was fine and downplayed some real problems. There are certain people here who get their rocks off by playing the Devil's advocate, and saying the opposite of what logic dictates, just to dig at an open wound. Since I blocked them, I haven't had any problems here at all.

I wouldn't judge all french people based on one guys take of the situation. As I have found out the hard way, discussing anything on any kind of serious level isn't always the best thing in here and thats ok I needed to learn that little tidbit. It is frustrating to a person if they come here to actually get into some kind of deep discussion it probably won't happen. I'm not complaining. It is what it is and it's fun most of the time. Most forums have a place like the coffee house to talk about almost anything. A relaxed atmosphere. My threshold for goofiness can sometimes wear thin but I am hypocritical if I say I haven't been the boring unfunny clown at times. Being unfunny is sometimes better than being a miserable prick in my book....but then that's my book and maybe yours is written differently.

Since I blocked them, I haven't had any problems here at all. It was said that I was in denial by some. However I can quite safely say that X1 was more stable for me than X2 is. Which just goes to show that on each individual's system some software works better than others. I'm not saying X2 is unstable by the way, it only crashes sometimes when browsing audio loops which I've reported but X1 just didn't crash for me. I think a lot of the problem is/was that some just find it impossible to believe that others could possibly be experiencing something completely different to their own experience. I so far haven't told anyone that finds X2 more stable than X1 that they are lying. That however happened regularly to me when I claimed X1 was more stable than 8.5 for me, which it was. That's life I guess.

CJaysMusic Is it me or do the French have NO scene of humor That's kind of like assuming that all Americans are just like the cast of Jersey Shore. And of course, some of them are indeed just like that. People are people, everywhere. French humor is hilarious if you ask me, but the language barrier makes it difficult to appreciate I suppose. But then again, anyone who speaks both languages and watches the American remake of a French movie, like Dinner of Schmucks, will quickly notice that the humor is entirely different. (In this specific case, that's being polite. ;) That being said, the OP obviously wasn't in humor mode when he posted that one. I suppose he was expecting something a bit more formal in terms of community support.

I was really just trying to make the point that there are so many different experiences with the same program that one persons view can be right while at the same time a completely different experience for a different user can also be right, it's all perspective. A little tolerance and understanding helps a lot. You have a good day to and stay safe if you are any where near the storms that seem to be battering the US just lately.
