So, per Grants question, does anybody have a "seed" track? If someone don't come up with something that's just layin' around soon, I can probably whip something together in Cakewalk Studio Instruments pretty quick. I would like to wait until my midi keyboard gets here. What kind of song do you guys have in mind.. Rock or Metal? So far we have... Robert Steve Me Are you in Z and Doc? I can put the stuff together but it probably would be a good idea if someone else does the mastering.

I'm in! I'm just gonna need a few days till I can get coherent again!!! Please forgive the whining to follow. Waaaa! I hate traveling for business! It'd be better if it were traveling for a tour than a bloody, stinking, daft software project. Ok I'm finished and have to go to bed and get some sleep. Jessie, if you read this....Your city has been too dang cold this week!

Strummy hasn't been sharing everything and he has a few good riffs he's been hiding. And if he isn't willing to share I've got an AC/DC like riff that I'm willing to throw in for the project, I call AARO (another AC/DC rip off). It's got the main riff, chorus and bridge. No intro, drums, bass, lyrics, lead or the like. Shall I post it up when I get home from my trip?

I've messed with the Cakewalk Studio Instruments, it would sure be harder to do a rock track then it was to do a Blues and Jazz track. How would you like to proceed?

ORIGINAL: DRHollingsworth Strummy hasn't been sharing everything and he has a few good riffs he's been hiding. I'd be happy for WIP#3 or WIP#5 to be considered in some form or other as a seed track - no-one's taken me up my offer in Soundclick to write some lyrics for either. Remember though, they are both just what they say, Works in Progress and I was intending to re-record most of both of them if some lyrics had been forthcoming so they're probably not of a quality to start working on immediately. BTW, would an instrumental be the best way forward for a first go - or would anyone be prepared to write/sing some vox? Put me down for rhythm triangle! Steve

Scratch my edit, those are cool tracks Steve! I think we have our first seed. I may be able to do some vox, let me give that some thought.

Oh come on! It would be a European polka, not Mexican. I was thinking of a polka rendition of Rhinoceratops. Hey that would be funny. OK so no polkas! I'm still down for whatever

Awol is with my new guitar and Mark played lead on that for me since I hurt my hand. Lifespan was kind of an experiment with midi strings for me, but I really liked the way it turned out. I also didn't intend this when I wrote it, but I dedicated it to my best friend who passed away 2 months ago now.

Hey Steve, I heard your Breaking The Law cover on soundclick, pretty good! Someone added an old cover of mine to their soundclick station, so I was flipping through and saw that she had added one of yours too. *edit btw, mine is the Mr Crowley cover.

It was the first song I was happy enough to put up on line [before vox were added and a lot of tinkering] and I did so as a way of thanking all the guys in here for their investment in me when I was struggling with my guitar sound - I know you helped in that 'Muddy Guitar Sound' thread so thanks to you too! Doc sorted the drums and thats my old mate Steve singing with a cold - it's still not finished but hopefully one day! Cheers Steve

My vote is for Steve's WIP #3. All I have for AARO is a scratch track. But I'm willing to to through that out there with that understanding. I'll post it later today on soundclick as an MP3

ORIGINAL: DRHollingsworth hmmm maybe we should all hide from Pete? From another thread: If this fails to work, spray paint your guitar a baby blue, strings pickups and all. Then call people a turd to give yourself a false sense of intelligence. You can hide, but I think he's looking for you Doc! " In Myspace, no-one can hear you polish a turd" [not at 96kbits anyway]

Isn't that like an amoeba calling a frog stupid? If he'd read instead of assuming what I said he'd note that I said he was like a polished turd. I did not say he was a polished turd. Big difference in semantics. But then again to quote the Captain: " What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. And I don't like it any more than you men."
