I don't think I ever saw that - I just googled it but I can't see what it actually means!

BTW, I registered for my Yahoo IM tonight - should I send you an invite tomorrow [or later today - depending on what time zone this post is in!!]

It says in the bumph that you can 'instantly' send images and files up to 1GB just by drag and drop to the message page - sounds pretty good for a free service?

We have a whopping 272 posts till we surpass the latency topic. Just thought I'd mention it.

On another note has everyone seen the Cakewalk by Roland announcement? Here is the Cakewalk announcement: Link, and the Roland announcement: Link. A topic with a lot of conjecture was started up in the Sonar forum before the Roland press release was posted to their web site.

Looks to me like good things are in the future of Cakewalk.

Doc - I've been following that thread in the Sonar forum - I reckon it's about 55% against, 35% for and 20% can't see much of a change.

If you notice at the top of the page, all the main topics except the Forums tab have already got this new header:

Is it likely to make a big difference do you reckon, good or bad?

knowing how roland has worked in the past and that it appears they do not have controlling interest it may be a good thing. Cakewalk may have a good chance of putting the screws to ProTools with the extra technical and financial backing. The Japanese are conservative but not stupid. I've worked at enough of them to know this first hand.

Thanks for the singers Steve, I can use them. Thanks for listening as well, I decided to put it up as an open collab in the Blues/Jazz Forum collabs page. I got to play on the last 2 I Been Told and There's A Bone In My Soup I'm first soloist on both. I kind of felt obligated to put a Blues reference track together since Richard did all of the work on the last 2. If you are interested in a slot, I'd be honored to have your strings on the same track as mine. I have one slot taken by Laurel, a 55 year old Country guitarist who has tons of soul. He did the harmonica part on "I've Been Told" I'm hoping one of the other guy's there is going to host it though, I can line the tracks up but my production skills still need much work.

Hi Grant

Thanks for the kind offer my friend - playing blues isn't really my forte, so I'll respectfully take a rain check. Mind you I would love to be just competent - it's a form I really do enjoy listening to and I'm envious of those who get the expression right, to me it's seems there's a lot more to it than just playing the notes.

Now then - how about a Rock/Metal collab? Anyone up for it - Grant, Doc, Z, Jessie, Bob??

BTW I have a tambourine and I'm not afraid to shake it at 200bps.

Hey there Z, you turned your Avatar back into a non-Lionel pose - now how rock'n'roll isn't that! Oh, and I'm voting for you as owner of the largest signature space on the forums - unless anyone else knows better!!

Nice detective work Doc:
We have a whopping 272 posts till we surpass the latency topic. Just thought I'd mention it

The only real difference is that in this thread every other post isn't a pathetic, sulky little 'throwing the toys out of the pram' immature misdirected whine or a misspelt and lame insult directed with absolutely no idea of pathos or what constitutes humorous sarcasm or even a little self-deprecating humilitude which might have at least endeared the obnoxious perpetrator to his 'victims' or consisting of a thickheaded stubborb refusal to accept the overwhelming evidence-based advice from someone who's knowledge of latency and it's causes and cures surpass the questioners by a factor of at least 27,928,673 to 1 and even then the complete refusal even to acknowledge that somebody else might just be right.

Oh, and some of Pete's posts were quite bad too.

I've done a few collabs with the guys in MC that were a lot of fun.
I'd love to do one with you guys.
I think the Roland connection will be good for Cakewalk. It has been a background connection for quite some time(Sonar LE packaged with Roland-Edirol keyboards, interfaces, and the ACT presets for Edirol controllers). From the posts I have seen from the Cakewalk guys, they would not sell out. I don't think they would get involved if it was not good for the Cakewalk customer base.
Steve,
re the Blues. You are absolutely right. it's not the notes, which don't really change, and that is fundamental. It's all about execution, and what you put into those notes.

So, per Grants question, does anybody have a "seed" track?

And And I would love to accept the award for largest sig, but I think you think its so big because I centered it. I think I've seen a bigger one somewhere.

BTW Your sig pic is only 8 pixels shorter than mine! Mine is 120px and yours is 112px. But come on, mine is a Rhinoceratops which would constitute the need for a bigger pic, and yours is a kitten, which you can't justify needs to be more than 90% as big as a Rhinoceratops. So I shall vote for you being the owner of the most pretentious signature on the forum.

Can I get at least once 'quote' for this, took me ages you rotten lot:

Point taken Z, can't be pretentious though mate, at least my kitten, or little Pete, as I call her, can actually play the bloody thing!!

I will now attempt to come up with the tallest sig in the forum, nay, the world.

Hey Grant, thanks for the extra images, this is worth another insertion:
