OT: Studio Photos...

In case you've been wondering....(you probably haven't) I decided to update my web site today and thought I'd post a picture of "The Upper Room" recording studio here for all to see. More pics are at my web site too. Keyboards, guitars I use....etc...on the music page....

That's it...well the Boogie amp just at the very right of the photo, and my keyboards are to the right of the Boogie... my home made pop filter is laying on the desk... I gotta finish making a mounting system for it.

this is where I make my music...sitting there at the desk.

In case you've been wondering about my avatar photo..check out the family photo's page...

That water bottle right by your computer makes me nervous. I keep my iced tea on the floor to avoid costly spills. But it all looks cool!

    Looks great Herb.

Is it OK for us to post a few pics of our own home set-ups in here, it would make for a real interesting thread I think.

They have a similar thread running on and off in the SONAR forum - some jaw dropping images of some very expensive DAW gear, guitars and synths etc.

However, what I found absolutely incredible is just how many of the owners of some of this top-end stuff hadn't even got one single piece of music anywhere to show for it

Here are the most recent ones I have. It's changed some even since I took these - they don't have my new DAW in them nor does it show that I've moved those rack mounted pieces and have added 2 more rack mount pieces to the stack.

Greg, when you are done, could you send her over here? We could use a lot of help.

I'd post mine, but it's not very exciting. It's one little computer desk (less then 3' wide), with the monitors, screen, Axion 25 and a desklamp. But, given the circumstances it's working. I could wow you the pictuires of my guitars. Not that they are anything special, it's the number of guitars we have (10 - 7 for me and 3 for my daughter)...Yes, the funny thing is I don't play that well (yet)!

I finally got organized in the utility room. You may notice we can no longer use our back door now. And when my son wants his keyboard back, I'll have to buy a new one because the one I usually use for piano students, etc., probably wouldn't fit in here. Neither would a piano student! Anyway, it works!

LOL! That's EXACTLY what it is! It came from a school and was a desk for a teacher! It weighs about 3.5 metric tons!!!

but actually, I'm more worried about room treatment next when I get enough money to spend on the next upgrade!

Hey guys! I'd like to join in on the photo sharing. how do you add a picture to your post. Jim.

    Hi there Jim

First off, open up a free account at Photobucket

Once you're up and running, use the Browse/Upload buttons in your new online album to navigate to the images on your PC you want to use and upload them.

When your image has uploaded, click on the 'Direct Link' field next to it - this copies the address of the image.

Now, in the post reply window in the forum, click on the image button from the options along the top - this inserts this code: [image][/image]

Click in between the two brackets: [image]click in here[/image] and then use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V to paste the image address there.

Check it's ok using the Preview button and there you go!!

    Hope that helps

    Steve

Steve.... that's amazing to me...I never could figure it out.... some kid at church was playing with one the other day.... his mom scrambled it for about 30 seconds (out of his view) and then handed it back... he solved it in about 45 seconds.....

Yeah, I can't do it 'intuitively' just by looking where all the parts are like the real quick solvers.

I have to build it up layer by layer, parts at a time. That's why I can't do it at lightning speed, but even if I have to use all the logical moves to complete I know I can still get there in less than three minutes.

Well here is my little corner of the world, nothing fancy just my lap top sitting on the shelf in my guitar room, this is a great thread GH, I'm glad to see that I am not the only one with wires and cords running all over the place. Steve thanks for the information, by the way I love your collection of guitars. Jim.

Steve, those Lego's rock. Very imaginitive.
It's cool to see everybodies home studio's. Ten or fifteen years ago, these picture would have been unimaginable.
Here's my little corner of the basement. It's actually quite small, but it's laid out so everything is accesible.
