Hi batsbrew!  Seasons greetings.  I don't think I could stand hearing myself w/o something on my vocal!  Thanks for the bass comment.  I thought it was also but hard to tell after working on it for weeks.  I appreciate the good comments.

Nice job Rim! This is quite a change for you, eh? Hahaha...I like it man! It's nice to do a little something different, isn't it? I thought you did a really good job on the mix. The reverb thing on the voice....I'd probably back down during the verses for sure...and then pump it up a bit during the chorus parts. But it definitely seems a bit too dominant in the verses. I know it's hard to listen to yourself sing. But you just have to look at it like "I got what I got and that's how it is" ya know?

When I was learning to sing, my vocal coach told me "you hate your own voice because it doesn't sound like the voice you're used to when you talk. This happens because by the time YOU hear your voice, it's passed through the bones in your face etc. When you sing on disc or talk into an answering machine, you hear it the way everyone hears it and it just sounds wrong."

So we pretty much just have to accept what we have and get used to it. I think you sing pretty good man....you're in key, that's what's important. Some people have that lead singer voice...others will always have that "good back up vocal voice" when they try to sing lead....which is what I have. It is what it is though, ya know? Anyway...nice job on this brother. :)

Hey, Jimmy,

Cool dance style 80's pop-rock fusion with a nice fun vibe and strong punchy rhythm!

Sort of reminds me of Human League, only with nice power guitars and (IMO) better vocals.

Bob

Hi Bob,

I appreciate your good comments and that the mix is holding up!  I like "pop-rock fusion".  I am going to add that to my thread title!

Thanks,

Jimmy

Nice clean mix, too, great stuff, Jimmy!

Mix sounds great to me. Reminds me of Peter Godwin's Images of Heaven.

This is great...I was trying to make my mind up which particular era of the 80's it reminds me, but I think it's all of them

Even the fade out sounds 80's.
