Good to hear from you, Boomin36Beatz. I'm glad you brought these ideas to the party. You are now a coproducer of this tune. I will take your ideas into consideration on my next version. I think it'll be quite different thanks to all the input I received. Thank you for taking the time.

a well crafted and delicious piece. the oyster/pearl theme has universal appeal. very cool to hear the Spanish/Latin influence w/ bongos. tasty bridge section which makes listener look forward to the main hook again. your mixes are always well balanced and create a pleasing aural space like a comfortable stereophonic cocoon, and this is no exception + it has a danceability factor that would be wonderful to exploit in a video eg maybe a flamenco dancer on a moonlit beach. sounds great on my system and in headphones. dig the harmonies and melodic nuances. you're a great songwriter Lynn. Keep 'em coming. :-)

Hey Lynn - Sorry, I listened to this when you posted and forgot to comment, or got sidetracked or (insert excuse). Anyhow, listened again and -still- really like it. The ending was a little abrupt, imo. The motif was really cool. The synth sounds seemed fitting and I think you did a fine job with the vocals. Fun song, thanks for posting it!

Daren, thanks so much for adding your ears to this song. I'm pleased you hear the Latin influence, and in the next version I hope to play that up a bit. Your words mean a lot to me. LpMIke75, I'm happy to hear from you. In regard to the ending, my original thinking was to put this song between two songs that fade out for some variety. At this point, I really don't know where this song will end up, so I may create two endings for this. Thanks for your time.

Really great tune. Performances were spot on. Very nice mix, I thought the acoustics could use a bit more volume and a tad more bass. The end was a bit abrupt, still a great tune though, really enjoyed

ohgrant, thanks for having a listen and your kind reply. I'm happy to tell you that I've remixed this and addressed your concerns. Thanks for helping me with this. Moe, thank you for stopping by. Interesting because I, too, live about 5 minutes from BB's. I go for Samantha Fish. BTW, I did like your earlier song on the forum. I enjoyed your vision.

ahhh very nice the way you bookended this now w/ contrasting yet complementary intro and outro. ya know; the way this starts... it has the energy and flavour of 'La Vida Loca' in some aspects which is really cool! Again i keep seeing Flamenco dancers in your video for this :-) The outro is a pleasant denouement with the percussion absent; a nice touch. well done, Lynn. this is an extremely great track!

I had to listen to both again. Much better. I love how the snare feels like it late even though it's not. I'm not sure if I like how the vocals goes from wet to dry and back again but that's subjective. Even better! Well done!!!

Thanks to all of you for stopping by to listen. Boomin36Beatz, thanks for your comments. These short synth riffs are the best I can think of at the moment. However, I will think about them in more detail, now. Thanks for contributing. Guitarpima, I appreciate you taking the time to relisten. You're the only one who commented on the vocal going from wet to dry to wet again. Good ears. That, BTW, is an old production trick from the late 60's, afaik. I'm happy you like the new version. Clean, thank you for your comment. Guitarplayer, thank you for listening. I have only my fellow forum members to thank for the revised intro and outro.

Sounds great and nicely produced. You do have a great voice. The song repeats part A five times and part B three times. It is a bit repetitive.

Interesting and great playing and singing. I agree about the intro being a little abrupt. Perhaps that's because I listened to the first few measures of the first mix before I realized you had a new mix up too. Anyway, nice job!

Lynn, Quite a difference between the original version and current version. Sounds good, good beat and instrumentation, ups and downs in the arrangement. I agree with Timbo on the Cuts Like a Knife line, a bit cliche in an otherwise very original lyric. It is a really good song though. Since you have mentioned oysters and sponges, watching that guest spot of David Hasselhoff on Spongebob Squarepants had to be as painful as getting cut with a knife, no? Good one. Regards

Really cool, different tune. Somehow it doesn't feel as "full sounding" as most of your stuff but it could just be me at this moment. The more I listen, though, the more I like it.

Markno999, thanks for having a listen and your comments. After consideration of your comment and Tim's, I decided to change that line in the chorus to "sometimes the words from you go through me like a knife". It's still a bit of a cliche, but it doesn't echo the Bryan Adams line, and it conveys the sentiment that I want to convey which is integral to the song. But, now you've done it; you have now become a coproducer of this tune. Thank you. markno999 Lynn, Quite a difference between the original version and current version. One of the really nice things about becoming involved in this forum, I am now listening to things that aren't really my bag and enjoying them... I really enjoyed this Lynn... I love the Latin feel to it. I haven't heard the original but I found the Horns really cool. The Vocal puts me in mind of Chris Rea..... No bad thing :-)
