I have downloaded it many times now,but just to humor everyone i will download it one more time. I have 22 GB left on my SSD and about 240 GB left on my HDD This problem only exists with sonar and for some reason only with functions related to prochannel,if i use no prochannel modules at all i can go about my business in sonar with little to no trouble but that defeats my purpose of purchasing the studio edition,i cant even add one PC module nor can i add the fx rack module or load chains, all of those things are currently show stoppers in sonar, for me atleast.

There is no point in downloading the product again if the current files match the posted md5 hash values.

Studio vs. Producer should not be an issue...same basic program, same core features. What does device manager show for sound, video, and game controllers? Don't give up, it has to be something simple which may be why it's so elusive. Mentioning graphical nightmares with FL Studio raises a warning flag...

The graphical nightmares are only in the beta FL 12 is currently in open beta with a completely new GUI ive been testing and it has many problems but thats what testing is for and i'm happy to do it,just not when im trying to work on a track im serious about completing,Fl 11 is solid never had an issue since second update from release. im not giving up just yet everything fl lacks sonar has and vice versa i want it to work,i want producer x3 for the full prochannel features but i'm not gonna risk the money till this gets solved.im currently backing up my recent projects in sonar and downloading a fresh copy of studio x3 im going to wipe all traces of cakewalk down to the last registry in the registry editor and re install the whole thing, all externals will be unpluged except my keyboard and mouse my computer will be offline all firewalls disabled im not going to leave a single chance somthing with this install could go wrong, but if it dosnt fix this im gana be so pissed because i just wasted nearly another whole day just searching and trying different settings to get this to work. Thanks everyone whos trying to help though,im gana try this if it doesn't work ill get ahold of tech support and hopefully they have a solution, but only if all fails then ill say good bye to cakewalk, not done quite yet.

I understand it's a beta, but unless Image Line is telling you to expect graphic issues and they know the beta has major problems, then maybe something's happening with the graphics that's impacting SONAR and the FL Studio beta. I dunno....

i would agree but the beta and the official share a few plugins in were some of the bugs exist in 12 beta but don't in 11,anyways i just did a reinstall of sonar my prochannel modules are working and sofar (knock on wood)no issues with program controls lagging everything seems usable with 5 pc modules loaded including PC4K S-type compressor, the only thing that slows down is the now time and main clock which is entirely tolerable,my only issue is now im in sonar studio "X3a" which has that bug were tracks seem to go out of time at random, and i'm not sure if i should update back to x3e or not? suggestions?im just afraid i may get my track lined up at all time but go back to the same prochannel problem, also note that i found three cakewalk registries im not sure if i noticed the last couple times i tried a re install i deleted them first before this install.im going to continue testing now and see if i can live with this random timing issue.

Now that it's working, I would highly recommend X3e. You can always set a system restore point prior to upgrading, just in case.

unfortunately after the x3e update the same problem persists,it must be something to do with the update patch, the behavior is only present after the update.kinda a catch 22 if you ask me,if you don't update there are a ton of problems with X3a if you do the original problems are gone but you are unable to use prochannel at all.im not sure how to procede from here, there's no answer to this problem and from my stand point the studio edition features i paid for currently is a donation to cakewalk tomorrow i call tech support and if no solution can be found to this im demanding a refund on the studio edition,i make very little money as it is,so buying studio X3 meant i didnt eat until i recovered the money and if i cant use it i cant afford to just throw it away.

There are a lot of weird problems that have happened due to Visual Basic libraries not being installed or being overwritten by other ones. I think it's highly likely that with real-time interaction with someone from tech support, they'll be able to get things working.

I know it's a PITA, but it may be worthwhile trying the X3b, c & d updates to see whether the issue is unique to X3e or something in the patching process.

I would recommend you to disable Windows "Aero" completely and set your Visual effects to "Best performance". Also try changing in Performancne Options -> Advanced, Processor scheduling from Programs to Background services. I do not remember what my settings there are but play with it :). Also, try to replicate the lag and while doing that, check the Performance Monitor in Task Manager - are there any CPU or GPU or HDD spikes that are unusual? This might give you some direction I think... In Control panel, disable all AUDIO devices but Scarlett, disable all network connections, bluetooth, floppy drives, even CD/DVD drives. I remember having similar graphic issue in the past but unfortunately I do not remember the cause or situation when I was experiencing it.

ok ive tried these steps and still didn't help, but i did find out something interesting.i open a empty sonar project,no vsts,no audio,no tracks nothing at all.my cpu is at 1% if i add a prochannel module it jumps to a steady 16% for just one prochannel module.what could this mean?

I wonder if the remaining space left on your SSD is enough. Most drives need about a third or quarter of their storage free to work optimally.

Solid state drives don't have this issue, its one of there benefits you can use the last megabyte without read speed being affected noticably, also the entire program would cause a problem that being the case, this only concerns using anything related to prochannel which end up affecting the whole program... Im still trying tho,the tech support is trying to figure it out with me.if once its solved ill post all the results that lead to the remedy so in case of other's running into the same issue they wont have all the trouble im having.

Have you tried a complete uninstall/reinstall of Sonar? (And I mean completely clean uninstall - deleting any residual folders and registry entries). Also, make sure you "Run as Administrator" both when doing the install and starting the program.
