It seems to me that getting banned didn't stop others from coming back. Curious why it would stop him if he wanted to come back.

What I mentioned above. I believe they banned his IP (standard practice usually). But, where he lives, you get one and you're stuck with it. Others have revolving IP's so they can renew the banned one and get a new username.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

paulo Why doesn't he just set up a new account with a similar name and pretend to be someone else even though everyone knows who it really is ? Apparently it's quite popular in these parts, so it's not like he'd be the only one. I hear that "The Bub" and "Bauby" are both still available.
Now who would do such a thang Pilau, if that is your real name?

Because I believe his IP was banned. So, I guess, he could either move or get another internet provider, ya?
As has been proven many times here, where there is a will, there is a way. My IP is different every day. I couldn't care if he comes back here or not, but he already could if he really wanted to, so I don't really see the point of this.

The point was, many ISP's do use revolving IP's, but Bub's out in the middle of nowhere and I think he said he's stuck with a dedicated IP. So, ban that one IP and you're toast unless you can find another ISP (which I don't think he can). This is one of the many reasons I don't live in the middle of nowhere!

Message from Bub: =============================================================== Thanks to Steve for letting me know about this thread. I knew nothing about it prior to his email. I greatly appreciate Bapu taking the effort to start it and all the folks that have responded. If it results in a change of status for my account I'll be forever grateful. Creating an alternate login isn't something I would ever consider doing. The way I see it is, if you've been banned from a product forum like this one it basically means they don't want you as a customer anymore. It needs to be resolved or you should move on. I tried several times but my emails were ignored so my wallet and I moved on. We'd be happy to come back if they'd like to reactivate my forum account.
Thanks for the support.

Bub has basically said he won't be back so could we be wasting our votes? I am going out on a limb here but I think I can speak honestly and not get clobbered. You need to find me first Not to single out Bub, but to make a point. Bub was a good example of someone who disliked some products and liked other products more and he was especially open to say those things.Does someone like that really belong on a forum created to further the use of their products? I like Bub . I think he has found what he wants. I appreciate his honesty in not trying to make a second identity here. He is a straight shooter all the way. Others here also use other products, myself included. I think it crosses a line somewhere though when it becomes bashing. I think Sonar X3 stands head and shoulders with the very best. I'm not a fan boy. I know there are some things the others do a little better depending on what your workflow is and how you operate. But then ...Sonar runs rings around them in many of the other areas. I'll take Sonar over PT any day. But that's one reason I'm here. I don't go to the PT forum and knock it to those guys...see my point??
