Please bring back coloured strips in Tungsten

I love the new dark theme. It's what I've always wanted but it is now harder to navigate through my large projects. Coloured strips made this a breeze. Please could you implement something like the image I have created here. The one thing I didn't like in the previous theme was that the coloured strips had to be a pale version of the chosen colour. Dark colours like I have done here would compliment a let's say "Tungsten Plus" very nicely.

My reaction on reading the title was no. On seeing what you have come up with I have changed my mind. I would like that as an option. Nicely done.

Very nice looking and a great idea. The same concept could/should apply to the track view, which I find harder to navigate with automation lanes etc.

I'm definitely on board for this. Looks great and I think would improve the UI experience.

Cheers guys. My only ever ProTools envy was for their darker coloured strips. Looks like this could now be the time Cakewalk please.

I like this... Think it should be a global selection thing though.... ie, a dropdown menue with these choices...
    • colored bottom only
    • colored edge surrounding strip
    • colored strip
Then, this kind of choice can be applied to all future templates!

At this point I don't know which of the three I like best... the lady photoshopping the edge around the strip... I liked that at first but....it really is an "individual preference" thing...

I have also had that thought - the colored strips really helped navigate - although the new theme is pretty I'm finding I have to either read a lot of text in large projects.. It would be beautiful if we could use the plthora of new suave colors in the pre tungsten fashion... amalgamate the concepts.

Be the first one who thinks that you can

    I like this idea.

It would be nice if you could "fade in" the amount of colourization.  That way everyone could be happy...

I've come to really like the Tungsten look and now have adapted my eye to just using the colors at the bottom of the strip.  So now I like that approach.  But the request at the top here seems really well suggested and demonstrated.  I concur that having a choice would be excellent.  As Vastman has indicated, if we could select what we want we could then pick what's best for our individual taste.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Definitely welcome the OPs strip-color idea! Although the bright orange buttons of Tungsten are distracting to me, and very Halloween, I can get past those if the strips can be colored like this.

Now that I've had some time with Tungsten, YES, PLEASE allow the strips to be colored. I was totally losing track of which faders I was adjusting.

Agreed, but it it could be that the current update/version was already in final release stages before we had this thread posted. Perhaps they'll do this in the next one. (fingers-crossed).

I am really lost without full color strips.
I was the one when tungsten was first released to be saying "its only a color"
we still have the icons, the names, exc..
how wrong I was. when your dealing with 10 tracks, its not a problem, when your dealing with 30 tracks, it IS a problem.
cant just look down anymore and know where that one track is. I have to zoom my own eye ball on a strip that is 1/16 by 1/2 inch. be honest... does anyone think that tiny little sliver strip helps ?
its so close / laying on top of the WAI strip, I cant tell what is what.
it doesn't, the only thing I use it for is to color my wave forms, as that changes wave form color.

please, bring back color strips in tungsten.
