Poll - What DAW are you switching to if any? Please take part!
I thought that while this forum is still here, it might be interesting to see what DAWs everyone is switching to. So I set up a poll. Simply enter your name (forum handle or otherwise) and select the DAW you are migrating to or Sonar if you are staying put. No signup required and it's anonymous. It only takes a second so please take part. The poll is here I will post the results here once everyone has had ample chance to take part.
Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

Good idea but these things(polls) don't end well. May turn into another "My choice is way better then your choice" knock down drag out.
Look as far as the present those who choose a wait see attitude may be the more mature consumers of all. After the dust settles and time clarifies the situation then one would make the best choice in my opinion. With all these sales going on it is a good to pick an alternative up and learn something new but don't expect it too be the "Do all end all" solution, after all Sonar was not that just the solution alot of people here liked, used and knew.
It's also not the time to fly the banner for a new DAW "just because". A lot folks make decisions they regret and make every effort to cover themselves by staunch support "For" the choice they make which eschews the sample in the poll unrealistically.
It is nice too see results from these things but either way here's hoping it helps and doesnt 'turn into a bashfest of sorts.
Edit: you should make this poll anonymous(which I used already) anytime a poll asked for a name you turn away someone who wants to answer without wanting too be known and you'll recieve more honest participation. Nothing scientific here so good luck on the results.

I voted, but I don't know if I'll change over right away. I thought for the sales going on it might be a good idea to add another one or two just in case Sonar Platinum stops working in the future.

Not voting, internet polls are a waste of time imo. But my two DAWS going forward will be Sonar 8.5 Studio and Reaper.

Well, since I was not sure yet I chose Samplitude. But I do own Reaper, Studio One Pro 3.x. So really my vote is kind of a back handed vote right now. I own Mixbus4/32c but those are mixing consoles to me, they are not full featured enough (yet) to be considered a DAW (for me).

I also will be switching to Samplitude, although, as Bapu, I did also opt in on S13, and already had several more to boot. I don't see Gibson allowing Sonar to be sold, in whole or in part. They seem to excel at "killing software". So that's the main reason.
I keep my system updated, and eventually, because of that, Sonar will probably, at some point, cease to be viable, and the lack of further updates, as things progress, will also eventually render it obsolete, which is quite sad really.

Same story here. I crossgraded to S1 Pro then the Samplitude deal came along. I also have other DAWs and am still using Sonar for some things - mostly working on ongoing projects. I voted Samplitude though because it has become my main DAW for new projects.

Samplitude here as well. Couldn't pass up a deal like that! I haven't installed it yet, but I can't wait to try it out. I still plan on Splat being my main DAW for now though. As bapu said, Mixbus 4/32C are still just for mixing at this point.

Thanks for taking part. Here's a progress report. We are 40 votes in now and things have changed quite a bit and no doubt will change as it goes on but the results at the moment are; 0/40 votes each for Mixcraft, Digital Performer, FL Studio, Bitwig, Mixbus 5th 1/40 votes for Ableton Joint 4th 3/40 votes each for Reaper and staying with Sonar 3rd 6/40 votes for Samplitude 2nd 12/40 votes for Cubase 1st 15/40 votes for Studio One Studio One and Cubase have been going head to head so far in this poll with Studio One just recently overtaking Cubase and pulling ahead. Ableton had mechanical problems and only just managed to limp off the start line. Reaper and Sonar are having a good battle at the back. Samplitude took an early pit stop so may have a strategy. :) I'll keep this thread updated.

I own S3 but don't use it as it kinda sucks compared to Sonar... just bought Cubase and feel it's way closer and quite nice. In particular, Cubase has a very extensive Track Presets system which is more extensive than Sonar's Track templates system, which I love as it streamlines workflow hugely...S3 has nothing like this so every song requires time consuming settups for Kontakt and other tracks which totally screws with songwriting flow...

Vastman .S3 has nothing like this so every song requires time consuming settups for Kontakt and other tracks which totally screws with songwriting flow... Agreed Studio One does not have track templates but there is a very elegant workaround solution that allows you to setup very complex output routings from Kontakt etc and save as a preset and load in a flash. You just don't know what it is.

S1 also allows you to save a song file as a template. I use that for multi-drum out, instrument setups, audio tracks pre-named and ready to go. It's very fast and easy to use.

Yup here we go again, the different ways things are done get pointed out yet another thread. I can say that the old Sonar still fits the bill for me but on the other hand I have been using Studio One since 2011, I can say I am up to speed on what it's capabilities are and I have say a lot of what is being passed off against is in fact ignorance of how to accomplish what the complainant is trying too do. I see others pop in with the solution but minds are pretty much made up by a bad experience so they move on. The only reason after all the years of using Studio One that I prefer Sonar is that, I prefer Sonar not because Studio One is lacking. In my own experience it is more stable, quicker, responsive and whatever buzz word one can think of than any version of Sonar up too and maybe above version 8.5.3. In my veiw the preference should be what works not what it can or should be without digging a lot more than some who post otherwise.

Another thing in studio one that works kind of like track templates is presets for drums can be saved with routing info. Drag an Impact preset into arrange view and multiple outputs are created
