Good lord.... the sound of my mother farting in the bathroom (nice reverb in there) sounds better than this chit.

I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to labeling something as music... but I see absolutley NO redeeming value to this ridiculous performance... except the appreciation that comes when it's over!   LOL

Cheers!

Tony

I think you're giving her work too much credit.

I believe the equation is something like this:
art+pretension-thought=Yoko.

I believe the equation is something like this:
art+pretension-thought=Yoko.

Or noise+pretentiousness-thought=Yoko.

art+pretension-thought=Yoko.

Or noise+pretentiousness-thought=Yoko.

Factoring both sides of the equation, we get the following result:

aiiaaiaiaiaiaaiaiaiaiaiiaiiaiaiaiaiaiiaiaiaiaiaiiaiakakakakakakakkakakaaiiaoooaiiaoaiiaaooaiaiaoaoaakakkaa

Yeah ... but that gives Sex Pistols and The Stooges ...  some credit! Like they are any better!or any less pretentious in their rebelliousness!

It's hard to criticisize one and not the other ... I have no issues with experimental stuff, and listening to Faust, and this and that is fun and silly and stupid, and no different than Ramones or other cheap music ... but if we call one bad, we have to call the others also bad!

Yoko's thing, from day one, was not very honest, and was based on a selfish motive that she knows "art" and that we don't, and that "art" means that you can do anything you want ... and it is "art" by implication because you are doing it!

And I do not buy that argument!

There are times, however that something is interesting and more "musical" in a way that we do not expect, like, or appreciate, but that "singing" is not one of the good examples ... but hearing John and Yoko make love is ok ... and you can put Klaus Schulze or Tangerine Dream in the background or some other meandering music, and it works great ... but that other screeching does not, help anyone of us learn about what Yoko is about ... which at this point is all "alienation" and "I hate the world" and "I wanna make them scream like I did" !!!!!

Sorry Yoko!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
