By the way - she sounds exactly like me the first time I heard a Yoko Ono song. My parents argued just long enough whether they needed to call an ambulance or an exorcist for me to come back to my senses...

I'm sooooooooo glad I was drinking or eating anything when I started watching that or it would be all over the screen and keyboard!  That was some seriously funny stuff (um, and, no, I couldn't stomach listening to her for more than a few seconds).

Fail and Yoko Ono - a bit of redundency going on there!

There is a funny bit in Geoff Emericks book about him and John Lennon in the control room during a session when Yoko was doing her "thing" at the mic. It was all serious until John turned to Geoff and just gave him a look over the top of his glasses and they both burst out into uncontrolled laughter. Yoko got so mad she wouldn't let them be in there together anymore.

Yup, that'd be hard to not laugh at.

Looks like she still got it.

I saw her not so long ago on Hudson Street, with a huge entourage of sycophants in tow. She gave me the filthiest look as if to say "Yes...that's right...I'm Yoko Ono....but don't you dare attempt to speak to me."

Just because you love someone who thinks they're an artist doesn't mean you respect them as "an artist" or that anyone else does either.

... at least Mosh and I get it.

    :-)

There's a side of it, that makes sense. And I keep thinking that she did this as an intentional satire on folks that sing ... about something ... !!!! And sound so empty and vacuous as to be boring.

Her "freedom" and "do your thing" on the open microphone makes sense in exploratory and free form stuff ... but she has, since her time, been superseded by people that have taken that ability and taken it to a new level of appreciation, that she did not have the ability to handle.

For all intents and purposes, her "artistic" days and "ability", died a long time ago, when John passed away. The hard part is that she is trying to live an image of the artist for artist's sakes, and I find this sad, stupid, and often, totally out of control, and not even an attempt at creating an artistic moment that makes sense.

It is very much like ... the dot in the middle of the white wall! ... problem was that it made sense for a time, and after that ... it is simply selfish, and not worth the discussion, even of minimalism! She has been a part of that group of folks that want to tell you that nothing in life, including the arts, has to have meaning. Of course, this would be totally weird and bizarre, in her case and history! If these are the sounds of her grief and such ... at least the music should be different, I would imagine!

Sorry Yoko ... your time is long gone, and you have lost the focus of the whole thing in lieu of something else that has no meaning, or direction, except where your ego wants to take you!
