Posting on Forums

(I post on a few geo-political sites and I have found the feedback on this site is very mild in comparrison)

However, I have found most forums are fairly typical.

I could post the following on just about any forum:
"I mean no disrespect, and I could be wrong but I believe
one plus one equals two. This is just my opinion"

I bet someone would disagree

someone would see my point but nitpick a few details

someone would sense hostility

someone would have a life changing moment

someone would hate me for saying it

someone would correct my grammer/spelling

someone would accuse me of preaching

someone would go back to another point in time when I said: one plus one equals three

someone would be offended to the max

and someone would see my Avatar and acuse me of being unpatriotic (this one is actually true) :)

I hope the above brought a smile to your face
Peace

Tom, I don't believe that at all.

I mean you could have said five minus three is two - same answer, different approach.

And there's no need to be quite so vitriolic, although thinking about it has made me decide to go back to college and study mathematics.

Actually that would be hard work, so thanks for nothing for putting the idea in my head. But who are we to believe anything you say, your addition is attrocious, which pisses me off more than anything.

Still, the say patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel - not that you'd know judging by your avatar.

    Tom:
Interesting post but I totally disagree.  Although I see your motivation, you are making assumptions.  I have seen other posts and, as with those, this one is full of vitirol.  But, upon further reflection and self-analysis, I believe I have a higher purpose and that is to admonish you - it disgust me to read your post.  Additionally, you do realize that this forum is mutil-national and your use of limited grammar is somewhat sad.  I know you feel you need to thump your forum canon and preach your interpretation of its contents, but you above all people have little to say when in past post you have contradicted your own numerical assumption.  Finally, if the above were not enough to raise my ire for you to the apex, your anti american avatar surely would.

    Have a nice day.

I'm absolutely sure that the OP's stated position that "one plus one equals two" as an absolute value is intolerant of mathmatical systems where one plus one may or may not equal a green squirrel.  Even though the OP stated his categorically incorrect position as his opinion, it flies in the face of all that is illogical and nonsensical.

As a result of this egregious TOS violation against absolutes, almost nothing will be done.

In re-reading this, I'm aware now that my reaction was absolutely incorrect in that I stated that I was absolutely sure.  I will, therefore, not necessarily take any further action to correct myself.

Rats.  Now, my reaction to my reaction that I was absolutely incorrect is bordering on absolutism.  Nothing may be done about this.

So, +1 to the OP  (There, that should equal a total of Mice with no Pants wearing Hats of Despair.  Or not.)

I don't think this has gone far enough.  We've hardly mentioned becan, yet.  Oh, and BayouBill and Beagle.  They have to be mentioned or there's a lot of staring and muttering over their mugs.  That wouldn't be too intolerable, but then the quivery bottom lip starts up and you know it's just a matter of time.
