Robby......i'm glad it's getting better....but it would have stayed the way you first heard it if not for the thoughtful and articulate ears that left me great notes on how to better. I just did as they suggested as their suggestions were right on. Thank YOU for the return listen and hippy knu ear to you!!!

I think this mix is really starting to work for you now.  I'm hearing a lot of work that went into the background vocals now that was just lost in the mix before.

Just an idea.  Consider adding an intro of generic bar sounds (something like http://www.freesound.org/people/lonemonk/sounds/31487/ )for about 3-5 seconds, cross fading to the drum intro.  Then at the end fade back into bar sounds with a voice over of the lead vocalist telling a friend how 'beat up he is over the deal.'  Nothing long - just a single sentence that fits and quiet enough in the bar sounds that you have to pay attention to hear it.  I think this would give the song a place to fit into.

Hi Glen..................I'm happy this is taking shape.  I owe a lot of it to your return listens and excellent notes.  I'll mull over the bar sounds.  There were a couple other cool songs on the forum that used those last year and i would hate to bump into those guys in a bar. :)  Thank you again!!!

James..................no problemo sir.

Steve..................Thanks for taking time to give a listen and drop me a note!  Much appreciated.

Hello Freddy..........Good to see you back.  Thanks for the listen and very kind words.

Rick, another toe-tapping blues but not-quite number..i agree with whoever said this has a live vibe. my take is that the mix sounds quite narrow for some reason, i'm sure it ain't, but it has a bit of a mono-ish feel...dunno how you pan and eq your separate instruments, but if i had the mix, that'd be the first thing; all your choices are crowded in the mid-range. unfortunately, i can SAY this but my mixes are the same, it takes a Danny or James to nail it...anyhow, sweet tune, too short, needs a solo i think but then it doesn't outstay its welcome either!

Hi Rick,

Well, as usual I missed the original mix but I'm sure glad I didn't miss this.

Love the song and the mix sounds great to me.

Cool piano line on the outro...along with lots of other cool parts throughout.

Rip Van Winkle (me) just woke up after the holidays and I'm glad I caught this tune before Oblivion.

I didn't hear the previous mixes, but this sounds good Rick!

Simply put...I like yer style!!

Mark..........I'll peak at that midrange clump.  It's quite possible as i have been trying to keep that area nice and healthy (maybe too much)...my stuff has usually lacked that.  Thank you for the sharp ears and comments.

Gary...............I'm glad the mix and all is sounding good.  It had lots of help.  Thank you!

Larry.................I remember you.  :)   You're the guy with the guitar parts i discomfit.  Good to have you stop in and have a listen.  I appreciate the ears and kind comments.  Good day to you me friend.
