Pro Channel FX Sale

I got a Cakewalk email saying the Pro Channel modules are on sale. The only one I've ever bought is the Concrete Limiter, and I've got a few bucks to spend, so which of the remaining ones are the most likely to be the answer to all my prayers, make my dreams come true and/or get me a date with Charlize Theron?

If your budget can handle it, after picking up the CA-2A consider the VKFX Suite. I tend to use the VKFX rack which is not a PC module. The rack is a VST plug-in which hosts all the other VKFX plug-ins in one container with some very nice presets. Purchasing VKFX from Cakewalk is the only way to get the PC modules. Other sellers of the VKFX Suite do not include the PC modules.

Edit: changed resellers to sellers, even Overloud does not include the PC modules when the VKFX suite is purchased directly from them.

Rod - Cakewalk cut me off from their emails for about four years. After the first two years I started trying to get back on the list. Took perseverance. It's a 3rd party company with a complicated set of rules.

Thank you all for the recommendations. I just hope Charlize is into compression.

Just started getting emails from cake again on Saturday, you need to contact them once you drop of their list, don't just re-register, it should but isn't a simple as that.

Just picked up CA2A and Concrete from JRR on the GROUP code and reminded me that I kicked myself for not getting the VKFX before when on offer.

I'm put off getting the whole pack, as I don't want the clutter, and I should have enough things like overdrives. You can get them individually, but once a choose a few the budle seems worthwhile. I was just looking at these yesterday. Ahhggg With Markbass and TH2 and the bundled Reverbs, Overloud are becoming my FX Overlord

Seeing them on sale a few days back I went through a stack threads going back about 3 years, and what seemed apparent, was that the CA2A were on about 95% of posters favourite ProChannels, maybe slightly in favour of the CA2A.

If anyone is looking at the Boz +10db pair, it's the same collective price on the Boz site, but you get the combined VST as well as the ProChannel options too.

Thinking about it, is the Boz +10EQ the only optional EQ (the quad being hard wierd, though turnoffable)?

The Boz plug-ins are furnished in all formats at both the Cakewalk Store and direct from Boz. I do not believe they are on sale though. I paid $99 for the bundle.

The Softube Mix Bundle contains 3 EQs but it is not on sale either.

Yeah sorry my mistakke, I was looking at the ProChannel Screen, not the Monly specials screen as I had thought, and they were showing separately after the VKFX, so thought the bundle wasn't available (just the pro Channels) from cake.

I also paid 99 back in January, which seemed like a one month intro price running for 4 months at the time.

Damn the new cakewalk store makes it too easy to purchase. My UK Credit Cred is hidden away, but I didn't even need to hunt it out, as stored in the site. VKFX purchased, just waiting for Cleverbridge and Cake to have a little chat

    Yep - agree on this.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Hadn't seen the comment regards getting the VST with the bundle. I went for that, but now Cleverbridge isn't so happy about my Credit card. hmmm. May have to wait for the UK to wake up.

Ca-2a seems like a stand out plugin and could be better than my current universal audio legacy versions. So that's a consideration.

    I have computer stuff.

CA-2A seems to be the most highly recommended here. I looked at the VKFX Suite because I trust scook, but they mentioned specifically (twice!) how good it is for keyboard players. Since I'm a guitar player, I'm not sure about that one. There is also a package with CA-2A, PC4K S-Type Expander/Gate, PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor and Concrete Limiter. That would finish my budget for the rest of the year. Since I already have the Concrete Limiter, I wonder if I can buy that package and give the limiter to someone as a gift?

I use the CA-2A almost always.  I just bought the Waves V-Comp when it went on sale for cheap (it's now $250) and I can't say I'm digging it much at all.  I'd class it as TOO MUCH "character!"- almost low-fi sounding when compared to the CA-2A.  I have a bunch of WAVES plugins and the only compressor I like is the L2- which is freakin' good man- and highly recommended!  But the V-comp...  I'm not getting it right now.  Maybe it will grow on me.  So what I'm saying is the CA-2A is a great buy!

+1   CA-2A is a really good comp, perhaps the best (or near the top) plugin CW has ever produced.   IMHO.

I bought the original all in one VST without pro channel plugins. Later Cakewalk gave me the free pro channel vintage keyboard delay. I had to stop using that pro channel plugin as it was acting up... I located the cause of the problem and according to Process Monitor it was writting to the hard drive continiously... so bye bye.

Note also the are a few bugs/weirdness with SOME pro channel plugins:

Tag Cakewalk... if they are still selling 'em they need to offer support.
