Only the Concrete Limiter and PC2A were of any interest to me and I waited till they were on sale at $50 each (I think). So if you think you'll use at least three of those a fair bit, then it's probably worth it. Otherwise if you're in no hurry, I'd just wait till the individual ones that you want specifically come and sale and get them then. FYI, Concrete Limiter and PC2A are great, but I have not tried the other two.

Most definitely worth it in my opinion. I even really like the gate. Some people say the channel compressor reacts a bit weirdly but I have the Dunede Channel strip and the compression panel on that also acts a bit differently compared to other compressors.

I think they're all good, and use all of them regularly. The CA-2A is fantastic. It took me longer to get my head around the channel compressor, but now I use it a lot more. I bought them all individually as and when they came on sale. @McQ - do you use the X series, or are you using 8.5?

The PC bundle is a great buy. A lot of people underestimate the quality that CW put into the PC modules. They are outstanding in sound and they do not hog the CPU. I think the PC makes Sonar a unique DAW. Adding the PC bundle at a sale price is a no brainer.

IMHO the CA-2A alone is worth that never mind the others. The convenience of having the PC follow the in focus track makes it my "go to" processing system. I wish some of the other processors that I use also came in PC versions. Although the FX bin module is almost as good, it's not quite as handy as a dedicated module for processors.

It is of course a crap shoot. I would think that eventually all the PC modules will come w/ SONAR - if not X3 then 3.5 or 4. That has been the history of Cake plugs, both effects and synths. So it depends upon how long you want to wait. The CA-2A is great. The SSL stuff is good - the gate works well tho I don't use gates much. The rest of the ssl channel works and does so dynamically as far as hitting it harder. Some (esp. older) software has the color or sheen or whatever that seems to be tacked on whether you hit it hard or soft. I tend to use the softube FET or the CA-2A for 90% of my work, tho. I have the limiter but don't use it much - I'm used to Voxengo's elephant. But everybody seem to love it here. If you don't have any higher end plugs and want some - it is a good deal and useful. Just be aware the ssl channel is likely to come w/ the next paid version of SONAR (it is the oldest). Still a good deal tho for the optical and limiter modules if you don't have other versions of those. @

Really a no brainer IMO. I use the PC2a more than any plug I would say. I like it better than UAD's stock LA2A. The expander gate is great as is the channel comp which I sometimes use when I'm looking for a tad of transparent gain reduction. I too have the duende channel strip and find I'm using it less and less in the channels. I'm not a fan of the stock tube saturator, if that bundle comes with the softube big knob saturator thingy, that's pretty cool too.

That package is a good deal. There's plenty of love here for the concrete limiter and CA2A but I like the gate better than any other I've used. It's sort of less adjustable than others but for whatever reason I get it sounding better and unnoticeable faster than any other gate I've used. I prefer the slow opening most of the time but fast has uses too.

If you do have them what do you like about them and what do not like about them? Do you have X2? No. X2 is the first Cakewalk upgrade I decided not to purchase. I un-installed SONAR X1A Extended last year and resumed using SONAR 8.5.3 Classic Edition. I bought some of the PC modules. I tried some of them and some that I purchased I never bothered downloading. I couldn't get excited when Cakewalk figured out to publish a VST alternative to it's recent PC offering. It seemed a little too little, a couple years too late. I guess that means the Pro Channel stuff just isn't worth $149 for me. I'll eventually buy an upgrade to Xsomething+, but I'm waiting until the upgrade is actually worth the $75 offer Cakewalk has been emailing lately. I figure I'll eventually get fully up to date for one convenient price. I'm hoping that when it happens that it seems like an upgrade rather than what "upgrading" felt like last time. I've been demoing Exponential Audio's Phoenix Reverb and R2. I'm going to buy them this week. They only cost $449 for the pair, they'll work in all my DAWs and they seem like a bargain to me. After experiencing the disappointment of the SONAR X1+ debacle I've begun to focus on good value and there are so many great choices these days that it's hard for me to take the Pro Channel concept seriously. When Cakewalk finally bundles the Pro Channel modules with SONAR I'll probably take a look at all those tiny little GUIS and hear how they compare to any of the stuff I'm already using. Tomorrow is May 15th. I am thinking it will be interesting to read about what happened last year and compare the facts to speculations voiced over the past couple years. best regards, mike

I use my Pro Channel plugins on pretty much every recording. I only have one paid plug in that isn't sold by Cakewalk (although I've upgraded the Overloud plugs). I find the PC Plugins to be efficient and to sound good. I couldn't possible say if it's worth the money to you. It depends on how much money you have in your budget and what else you own. I can say I use those plugins quite a lot.

I use the ProChannel modules with great results. I prefer to set the parameters for tuning up my songs via the ProChannel interface as well. I wish there were more ProChannel plug-ins. That said, I think I have enough compressors now.

It is listed in the monthly specials for $149. There were two discount codes last month for 15% off everything at the CW store which could have further reduced the price. I posted a message on this forum about the second discount code.

Aside from the stability fixes, I'd actually like to see some more ProChannel stuff. I want some more eqs which add some flavour. Specifically, I'd love to see a Pultec emulation in the PC... That would be amazing...

This is a little strange for a company not to respond to this aspect, whatever its field of activity, and it can be a little discouraging for some customers (or they are wrong about the existence or the importance of the issues they evoke - but in this case you need to tell them, am i right ?). In the bug-riddled gaming world, companies keep their customers up to date on upcoming patch release dates (forecasted) what the patch will fix, what will be carried forward towards a future patch, etc. I wouldn't mind hearing from Cakewalk if they are planning an X2b patch, and what it might contain as far as bug fixes. As far as not including currently sold-separately plugins in future full realeases goes, I find that Sonar Producer is sorely missing a brickwall limiter in its included arsenal. I'll consider paying for a hypothetical X3 as a bug-fixing patch only if it includes one.
