Problem with Step Sequencer MIDI editing

Greetings, friendly forum folk.  Being relatively new to Session Drummer 3 and the Step Sequencer, I've run into an issue where drum clips I've created using those apps have resulted in MIDI clips in the Piano Roll View that I can't edit the way I did MIDI clips before.  The draw tool and the select tool in the PRV don't seem to work the same way and when I place my mouse pointer over a MIDI note I don't see the horizontal arrows and velocity lines.  It's as if I've entered into a different work mode or something like that.  This only started happening recently.  I was editing SD3 MIDI clips before (I don't remember if I was using the Step Sequencer then, though).

I searched the forum and eventually found another thread where someone had a similar problem and someone suggested to them that they needed to "disengage" the Step Sequencer and that should fix the problem.  He said instructions could be found in the Help section of SONAR, but I've searched and searched there and can't find anything.

Anyone know why I'm having this problem?

Try bouncing the midi to clips then you should be able to edit as normal.

But I want to edit the MIDI notes.  Bouncing it turns it to audio, doesn't it?

Not if you bounce the MIDI to CLIPS.

If you Freeze you get audio
