...there is s strong case for returning these customizations over time. In what quantity and at what time I wish I could provide more information, but I'll need to investigate further.

I hope that what is there could be added to - for custom colors:

1) a Search facility for a particular Screen Element

2) viewing how adjusting a particular Screen Element would affect the area of that element - ie a small insert of a localized sample with current settings, before actually applying it.

the main color feature I would like to see.  Click any clip and be able to change the color.  that way I could map out the different sections and tracks of my songs in different colors.  This would help me more than any other color customization.

You can change clip colors (background and foreground). Click the clip and use the Inspector's "Clip" properties.

Wow, having recently watching the Kenny Gioia "Mixing Rock" videos I was looking  for this very feature.  Kept trying to modify the track, didn't think about doing it on the clips.  Thanks!!

Colonel Ryan is my brother, but I'll take an "honorary" Colonel status, sure.

And thanks for the Kentucky Old Fashioned - ahhh.  (yup I like the Kentucky stuff outta them old barrels)

It is a matter of historical fact that George Martin and Geoff Emerick kept several jars of paint next to the console at Abby Road.  How else could they keep from confusing the drums with the guitars?  They also tried taping little pictures of drums and guitars and mics next to the faders, but they could never agree on which pictures were the prettiest, and the arguments got in the way of their creativity.

At one point, during the Rubber Soul sessions, McCartney stormed out of the studio, complaining that he could not possibly sing unless his channel strip was painted a nice shade of persimmon.

I dislike the colors of the console. The whole program is in dark colors. Then the mixer should also be designed in a dark color. The silver skin is a visual break.

Darkside mod fixed that for me......
