Can you do another image of the drivers tab, this time with DPC count column sorted highest to lowest?
I notice some are offscreen, just sorting should resolve it...
Thx...

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I'm not meaning to be an alarmist, but I'm not sure Windows 10 is a good enough OS for Pro Audio at this point.

I've disabled so many things! There isn't much left to turn off.

I know my machine rocked in Windows 8 and 8.1.

I suppose I should pull up my laptop that I also setup for Windows 10 and monitor that too, but it's more likely to have issues.

So, anyway, to my friends here, I say proceed with caution.

Update your display drivers. Try disabling your network adapter (right click... Disable). Try unplugging USB devices whilst monitoring latency mon. Ta

Alex,

I give you a nod of respect. Thanks for staying with me.

As you point out, it can't hurt to keep at it.

I have unplugged my touch screen. Mouse, Keyboard and interface are still plugged in. I'm looking for the next spike.

if I get one, I'll move on to disable Network Card.

With network disabled for 2 hours (?) I didn't get a spike.

I mixed this...
http://stabilitynetwork.blob.core.windows.net/g-tunes/20150723_Tony_05_SoulShine.mp3

So I re-enabled the card and went poking around properties of the NIC.

I double clicked the Network Card in Device Manager and found Power Management and disabled Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Let's see if that does the trick.

;)

I recently got a semi spike, but not too horrible. Not sure if it was related to me closing apps before dinner.

I'm leaving it running during dinner in hopes of a good outcome.

Bapu, while running sonar and DigiCheck, I'm still getting clicks when copying files around. With only sonar it works better but not perfect. Since I almost always run both, I'm having to restart sonar a lot.

Update display drivers next I suggest
Let's look at updating the network card drivers as well. This is often well overlooked by most.

If the network drivers are internal then it's time for a bios upgrade. I would do it anyway to be honest.. Also pay a visit to intel driver update site.

If you have difficulty finding latest please state make, model and driver version... Cheers..

Oh another cause of network spikes is having some settings on auto (I'm just talking about driver). If you can give it exactly what it needs (ie default 802.x speed) that could help.. Otherwise CPU cycles can be wasted whilst the nic learns how to communicate. ta.

Give us the make/model and driver version anyway of graphics card and network adapter.

Again update graphics card and run intel driver update yada yada. Even if good I would not stop there. Ta.
Thx.

I really did, Alex. I updated both.

I can't remember the names of that stuff right now, but I will share it.

I have already gotten the drivers from the manufactures.

I kinda think the nic is on the mobo.

I went 4.5 hours tonight without a spike.

I still get clicks when switching projects.

see post #20

If you have an Intel Network card on your motherboard (and your network card *will* be on your motherboard) updating the drivers CAUSED the problem for me.

Just sayin...

So AMD driver here:
http://support.amd.com/en-us

You will probably get better chipset drivers here..
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

Looks like gigabye comes with 'LAN Optimizer'. This looks like vaporware to me, and could cause latency issues, if installed consider removing. Check for any other gunk apps you could remove from your PC.

What about your network card? What is the name and version reported under device manager?
Thanks..

Yup google intel driver update.
And update the BIOS.
Make sure CPU in windows power settings is set to 100 - min/max.
Update interface drivers and firmware.
Update your display drivers..

Probably been covered before.. I best check the thread again.. Too lazy right now..
