Rainfall re recorded

Had to start from scratch and redo but I took everyone's suggestions to heart and tried to get a better drum track and some stereo separation. Interested to know what you all think.

Fantastic!  I grew up a half block form a creek in Illinois and dealt with the dreaded (not when you're a kid) floods.  The song is just so pleasant to listen to .  Good subject matter and good lyrics.  Should be on the radio.

Excellent!  Great job Teego.  Love your voice.  The song is great.  It sounds radio ready.
One small technical point is that your mix is pretty much mono.  There is not a general stereo width to it but it sounds great anyway.  Just thought you should know.

    Happy Easter!

@evadianepug  It has been a while since it has flooded like that here as we are coming out of a 10 yr drought.Thank you for your kind words and for listening and watching.

@ rimshot Thank you also for the kind words and you are correct the mix is not as wide as it should be. I recorded this a pretty good while ago before I really had a feel for the stereo field, I was still experimenting! I appreciate the feedback from you guys !

Great Kountry tune... Mama? Your dog? Tough times? (Rain fall) Really good stuff, and well performed. The vocals are "perfect" The harmony, very nice. Now for the improvements ;-) You need a drummer? Or someone who can program drums? You can't take a great song like this and leave a drum machine going in the background... It could be so much better with just a little more thought put in to that drum track? Some fills, some places where you're on the ride instead of the hats? Little accents, etc... Not only the performance, but "the sound" of the drums. Drums are very important to the overall vibe, and the overall sound of the mix. How they are spread, how they are treated, the transients, the verb, the overheads, the direct mics, how much each is allowed to ring, etc.. As a guitar player (/keyboard/bass/mandolin/etc... player) I know the drums are a biotch...

I know it's hard? I hate thinking about the f'ing drums... I hate it! But this is really a good song, but it feels like the drums are holding it back :-(

Thanks man! I do have another version of this that I recorded with a live drummer but I like the easy feel of this better than that version. I will be redoing the drums on this at some point . Thanks for listening and thanks for the kind words and the recommendations!

teego , hey man you sound fantastic …
I like the mix the way you posted it ….your song sounds powerful

u tube has a way of screwing up in their conversion process anything that even approaches a real decent stereo mix
it happened to my vid that you saw …what I posted sound wise at CD quality and how it sounds up there are 2 different stories
theres a poster here on this forum that recommends  putting up close to mono at - 6 db's
out of every u tube video I've ever seen to this day , his video stands as the best one I've ever heard on u tube
I'm gonna have to try it his way next time out  like i said your video sounded very good

your voice , guitars , the overall sound was top shelf ….the drums detracted a little bit but hey
you sound Pro in all the places it really counts ….
great job ….it was nice to see your horse make a cameo

Thanks Kenny. I appreciate it! I actually do remember pulling the volume down a touch on the audio while putting the vid together in movie maker. I don't know if it was down to -6db but I am betting it is pretty close to that so you may be on to something there. The best I can remember I don't think I even tried to do a realistic drum track, just throwed a loop down and recorded the song to it so everyone is right about the drums. The horse is my Granddaughter's,she just got him. He is a good one.

Hey man, that's a fantastic song in all respects.  When the chorus started I was hooked for good.  You got some advice on the mix, and others are better at that than me, but if you do remix, please post it.

I know the chances of getting a song cut are slim, but this one ought to be.  Beautiful tune, natural flowing lyrics.  What a gem.

Where in Florida?  I was a Cocoa High  guy.  Class of 59!  Actually I moved to Orlando last half of my senior year and graduated from Edgewater High.  Graduated from the UF-Gainesville.  Wow! Has that campus changed?

As to your tunes, I really think you need to promote the heck out of your stuff ...  Rainfall and Charlie being  the only two that I've listened to so far. I'm certainly no country music expert, or music expert of any genre for that matter; but, the words,  the melodies and  the emotions you put into your songs are as good as I've ever heard!  Have you  tried to touch base with anybody to help promote the music?

I am about 60 miles from Gainesville in a town called Live Oak. Thanks for the kind comments on my stuff. I am trying to build a catalog of songs to do who knows what with. I have been approached this week by a promoter but I am still pondering on it because I don't know which way I want to go with it, I am no spring chicken myself. I really appreciate the kind words.

Agreed with above comment too. stick it in a wider stereo and put some time into the drums, give them a bit more interest.
Superb singing and feel to your vox. How you annunciate the words works very well. I like the soft tones that you add to it. :)
    Nice one!

Lovely song. Sounds pretty good except the vocals have too much reverb on them causing the mix to sound muddy.
