Recieved my new PG hard drive

Did the setup and am using the new 2011 BiaB and RB. I have been doing some reworking of a few songs in my sets with the new RTs. Wow I was Playing some songs the other night for some friends, and i was able to say " on lead guitar Mr. Brent Mason!"  http://brentmason.com/   RTs are great it's like having real live studio musicians sitting in on your sessions!

The new elastique pro stretching engine totally rocks. I do  lot of mixing now using sampletank, TTS, and RTS, and RDs.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

I love all the toys, RB, MC5, MTS, BiaB, kinda of an alphabet soup of music toys!! I so enjoy this. Last night a sat down and played a set of 20 songs and just had a ball!

I recorded last week an old Keith Whitley tune that never made it to an album. It was found after his death on a small tape based recoding set in his small home studio, a scratch version i built and recorded a full band version. What a beautiful song. I hope to re record the vocals soon and upload it for friends to hear.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

I had the USB drive from 2010 and bought the $139 upgrade to 2011 and I got a new USB drive.

I'm assuming it's DVD's I got the $99 + bonus paks. The level I am at is the Ultra Pak HD so.... unless they are sending a new hard drive, I was assuming it was DVD's to upgrade my existing HD.

A new HD version preloaded and ready to rock would be cool.

Herb is you bought the $139 deal it is a hard drive. I think the $99 deal is the upgrade for those that bought the 2010.5 summer deal, and that is a set of DVD i understand. I did not, i just downloaded that 2010.5 freebie that did not include the 101 new RTs. I then, as I said above just bought the $139 deal that came with the 2011 upgrade and both the 2010.5 and 2011 101 RT paks or 202 new RTs.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

I reckon I'll see when it gets here. On the chart that was on the site.... according to my current config, the only upgrade was the $99 deal to 2011....or audiophile....

On this page I find myself with the Upgrade from 2010.5 UltraPlusPAK so my upgrade looks to be DVD;s that I'll need to install on the existing drive.

If I'm wrong, I'll have to return it and get the right stuff, after a consult. But I'm thinking I'm right.

You are correct sir, if you BOUGHT the 2010.5 summer upgrade you can get the 2011 upgrade and install over the  2010.5 on the USB drive, but if you only downloaded the 2010.5 free upgrade and did not purchase it with it's new (at 2010.50 RT s tracks I think sets 82 thru 100 ) you have to upgrade the $139 HD set or you miss out on the RTs from the summer, and only get the ones released now.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

Rob's right.  that's why I paid the $139 because I did not pay for the summer 2010.5 real tracks.  If you paid for the summer 2010.5 Real tracks then your upgrade price is $99, if you did not pay for the $99 2010.5 Real tracks, but updated your BIAB with the FREE 2010.5 then you pay $139 for the upgrade.

if you didn't pay for the summer upgrade real tracks and you only paid $99 for the 2011 upgrade then you will be missing 101 real tracks that I have and you won't.

I bought the UP upgrade HD in December of last year. IIRC they sent a free upgrade to 10.5 so I'm pretty sure I'm getting DVD's that I'll need to install on my drives.

I have the total package with all the sets, styles and RT's minus what is in this new upgrade. So I'm thinking, with a 160GB HD and 80 on it used by 10.5 there is plenty of room on the HD... but I will also be installing it directly on my storage drive in the new DAW where it runs super fast.

no, if you bought the upgrade last year in december then you bought the 2010 upgrade, but there was a 2010.5 FREE update for BIAB, but a 2010.5 $99 PAID update for the 101 Real Tracks.

the 2011 upgrade has an additional 101 real tracks (total of 202 real tracks since last december).

He's is still confused!  Herbie the $99 DVD pack does not include the 2010.5 RTs sets 82 thru 101, they include the new sets 102 thru 121, which is cool, but the only way to get the midi summer paks that came with the paid summer upgrade is to oder the 2011 USB hard drive. It includes both sets. The free upgrade in 2010.5 was just for the program and did not have any RTs with it.

Anyway when you get them if the first set is not there call PG.

still ain't had the time to install..... 7:25pm and waiting on a phone call... I might have to drive 3 hrs to a job site tonight, to get a door working..... maybe tomorrow, unless they say hey, not tonight, be here at 8am.... or better yet, when the emergency door guy gets there, I simple phone call from me points him in the right direction to fix the problem in the door opener wiring....

I'll get it installed before the end of the year....

I got more music to write...

I remember those nights well my friend. I used to use Napco panels back in the day, and had that little modem that attached to the computer and i remember sitting at my desk at 2 in the morning once using the software to bypass a bedroom window so a family could lock up and leave on vacation. Hey it saved a 30 mile drive a 3 am repair and a 30 mile return! Geez Louise why can crap happen during the day?!?

Ah the joys of owning your own business!!  I still miss it though, and if i had two ounces of excess energy left i would start over. Worse decision i ever made was getting out of that business.

didn't have to go last night... did have to go back today.

    another ruint day....

anyway... yeah, I use Ademco for security.... this is different..a niche market. And I'm the only factory installer in the sate and also the one above and below.... so I cover a large area. lots of driving.

still haven't installed BB 2011... maybe tomorrow.

I have installed a few Ademco panels over the years, never really liked them much, i thought they were a bit hard to program. But they sure had a lot of options. When i was installing for ADT four years ago we used some ademco (now honeywell) but mostly DSC, i really like those the programming was slick and easy, and the package was far less pricey if you needed to compete. In the long run they all work well, just a matter of getting familiar with one system.

when I was in the security alarm business we used Radionics.  the older panels were a pain in the rear, but the newer ones were a breeze.

familiarity with the programming is the key to any of the panels. I have used Ademco for almost 20 years and I know the programming. I also use a laptop computer in the field to program all but the most basic panels. If it has wireless I use the computer. I find it so much easier to see and catch the mistakes in the computer than from the kpd.

I won't even touch any panel that is not Ademco. It just takes too much time to become familiar with the programming.  Cost to me is not so much of an issue since I don't try to compete at the bottom of the price scale.... I do custom installs in higher end homes for customers who are willing to pay for a top quality system.  It makes it harder to find these sorts of jobs but... I manage to survive.

Yeah Beag we signed on for a while to be a radionics dealer, i hated the old bar code programmer, and all the stinking modules that you needed especially in the fire panels.

Herb, i agree with that concept, when i was in my own business that was why we used Napco, i could count on the panels to work, there are still a ton of them out there i installed in the early 90s still tickin' We used the old prom burner to program back then it was simple, but do not make a mistake or it cost you $8 every time you had to burn a new chip. I remember the first time laptop programming came in i had a really old 286 lappy with a stinking 20 meg drive. the software was DOS, but it was a breeze to load a program with. I remember i sat down the first night in my home office and wrote a template for each panel with the basic average setup, then i could alter it in the field in a few minutes to meet that particular install. plug it in, and in 5 minutes you have a working system. Then they started adding tons of options and it got interesting.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!
