Can't fault the Gigabyte 5750 or 5770 silent editions. I was Nvidia all the way up until last year, and would happily go back to them in the future, but needed a silent card with a bit of grunt for other things, so went with the 5770 silent. It was so heavy it was bending the PCIe socket on my P5Q-Deluxe motherboard, so I replaced it with a 5750 silent for the DAW, and used the 5770 in one of my kids PC's(which uses a p7p55d-e lx motherboard, which had no issues with the weight of the card). Haven't had any problems with driver issues yet. As it's a pure DAW, people's advice above has already answered your question well. Find a card that adequately serves it's purpose while using the least amount of power(which in turn leads to less heat/quieter operation). Ad

Jim, ok the Asus 210 looks to be good. With only one HDMI and one DVI output, is it just a matter of using a DVI adapter to get it to work with 2 displays? I have 2 HD 1920 by 1080 screens. And the fanless power supply I want to get is the 460W version below, is that sufficient? Yes, just a DVI adapter Yes, the 460w fanless PS will be fine (as long as you're sensible with the number of internal drives and peripherals). IOW, Don't try and run the machine at 4.5GHz with 10 internal drives, high-end video, and loads of bus-powered USB devices. If the power supply isn't enough for a given machine; you'd typically experience spontaneous reboots as the system is put under heavier loads.

I'm planning on running 3 SSD drives (Intel X25-M 120GB), the ASUS 210 1GB video card, and my RME Multiface II audio interface. And that's it. All this on an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard and an i7 920. Coupled with the Seasonic 460W fanless power supply. I'm also thinking of getting the Corsair CWCH60 Hydro liquid CPU cooler. I think that should be about as cool and quiet as I can expect to get. I'm not overclocking by the way.

I'm also thinking of getting the Corsair CWCH60 Hydro liquid CPU cooler. The Corsair WC units work well... I prefer my favorite air-based cooler (as it's just as quiet and a little more effective).

plamengv I'm using XFX GT240 512MB DDR5 with Accelero S1 Rev.2 on Windows 7 64bit I have one of them heatsinks fitted to a GT9800 1Gb as the GPU fan was the noisiest fan and could be heard above the other 7 fans!! Now the machine despite its 7 (mostly Noctua) fans is much quieter.
