Only listening on lappy speakers, but sounds great anyway. Only one question - what kind of noise does an administration make ? I don't know so I can't tell if he's playing it well or not. ;) Everyone else did a great job.

Very nice. My only crits are the guitars seem panned too far left and right and on my speakers the bottom end EQ could be rolled off a little, back off on the reverb a touch. Good vocals, timing and accuracy. Nice tune, nice arrangement. I like the tune right after that one too! Daryl

Nice song and good vocals with solid backing. As for crits I found the cymbals around 2:00 or so to maybe be a bit too present (possibly just my taste), and I would have liked to have heard the lead guitar centered more.

Paulo- Hey, buddy. Dena (Venus) is working mega hours and I told her I needed to get back up here and get involved again so I would do some responses for her. The administration noise is... well, good question!! LOL Thanks Daryl- Thanks for the suggestions. This post is really about getting other points of view on the mix, song, etc. Will will get valuable info from this stuff! Phil- More good stuff. Thanks for stoppin' in and commenting. All suggestions are taken seriously!. Dena can sing a bit, huh? :-)

liking this song a lot! it's well played. at times almost too much going on. is it a pop song, a blues song, a rock song or what?! your voice is very good but is a pop voice. which at times jars with the musical direction. some awesome piano chops going on there. i'm sure everyone had a blast though! mixwise bright but not overly so. well balanced, a touch narrow at times, but pretty damn good.

This was the first collab for this group and we recorded backwards. It does have varying genres, which I admit I was hesitant at first. Now, I think the assortment of playing styles and the performances give it it's own originality (and it's still pop, yay!).

Wow--what an all-star list of players. Way to go, Dena. This is a great! Did you write this? Always love your voice of course. Gary's keys are just perfect (love to hear him play too!) OK, I'm lovin' the guitar, bass and drums too. This is so good! :-)

What a teriffic song and great performance by all. Did you write this number?? The vocals are wonderful and I appreciate the fact that they did not overpower the song (as seems to be the trend in so much commercial music now). I agree with Phil that I would have liked to hear the lead guitar panned a bit more center but that is a very minor nit. This is indeed an all-star collaboration that ended up creating an excellent number. BTW, I thought the administration sounded great :). Freddy J

Great line-up. Nice song and well performed. Mix-wise, not that I'm any mixing guru, but it sounds heavily compressed to my ears, to the point of having too much energy or boominess on the low end. It could just be the MP3 conversion though. I think the vox could use a bit more presence also.

Mark- Steelers? Well 2 yrs ago they beat my Cards and this year my Bears lost to GB. I gotta go GB just to save face! :-( I hadn't thought of it being mixed genres, I'll bet the "administration" should have told us. LOL Thanks for the comments. This is going to Afghanistan where Will is protecting all of us. He likes crits. Janet- Dena and Will wrote this. They work kinda like Mark and I do. Will sends music to Dena then she does lyrics, arrangement, vocals, and all the stuff she does so well. It was a treat to have Elton Dugan contribute. Thanks!! Freddy- Great, now the administration wants a raise! :-) Again, Dena is on long shifts so I'm helping her with response. I have been off for awhile and see you have a tune up here. Hopefully I can listen to tunes today. I miss it! Dena and Will (and the rest of us) appreciate you taking the time and helping with your suggestions. Thanks, BluesDude! Herb- As I said on a comment up there a bit, Dena And Will are the writers. Read the comment to Janet about 2 up. I have been fortunate to contribute on a new tune that is coming up someday. What a treat to work with all of my friends from up here!

Janet, Freddy, Herb, Mark, Scotty, Yes, Will and I were definitely lucky to have these contributors. Nice to have Big Dogs lookin out for Underdogs. :) Will and I initiated the original music, but everyone was free to be creative with their own performance. Thank you for your crits. My fave thing to do is ponder philosophically methods of writing and mixdown, thus more crits are definitely warranted. Hugs!

THE ADMINISTRATOR....I have no idea what John B's official title is or exactly what he does, but I TOTALLY LOOOOOVE having him around. IDK if he's the' Go to Guy' or accounting or HR or statistics or coach or coproducer or manager. He's just there for us! Trust me, everyone needs a lil' JBL (John Bragg Love) in their musical ensemble.

Very sweet voice! I would loose the oh! around 1:14. It is sort of too early in the song and you need to have a grittier passage before doing that. Excellent production and instrumentation. Very nice clean mix. Excellent song overall.

lots neat stuff goin on here folks!! I really enjoyed the tune and all the pieces were glued together quite well....I'm on lil laptop speaks so I can go into the mix but I will just say that the verb on the vox sounded like it was in a different space than the other instruments...but again I'm not in the best position to point to a better direction so I'll just let it alone... everyone did a great job here and its sounds like you all had a ball!! good tune!

Listening on the Ultrasones... First off, I love the song: sounds really well written, and you sang it real fine. I really love the first 30 seconds, when I thought this was one of the best things I have heard on the forum in quite some time. The piano was absolutely terrific. Then.... - Drums sound great, but the snare is just too heavy for the verses. It is even a bit heavy for the chorus when the guitars come in. The hats are also on the same side (on the right? Is Darren a lefty?) as the lead, so they clash freq-wise, and are way out of balance volume-wise.
- +1 on the reverb on the vocal issue. Sounds like there is both a slap echo and a longer plate, but the plate is too short and too big, if you know what I mean.
- bass is kinda indistinct some of the time. Warren, you played the heck out of it, but when everyone is going with you, it gets a little lost and muddy.
- the "coming around" line 2:00 needs some more 2 pole filter on it to separate it from the lead vocal
- bgvox also needs some eq job to also separate them from the lead vocal
- lyrically, there a ton of great ideas, but they just don't seem to tie together all that well. I listened four times and I am not sure the connection between the rain, the redlight, the guy, the leather. Individually, like I said, great, but there almost sounds like there was a unifying verse that got dropped (made me think of the Elton John song "Daniel," where the last verse, which actually makes sense out of the whole tune, got dumped, and should have been left in.)
