Reinstalling Sonar 2 XL

Hello :D !

I have a problem regarding reinstallation of Sonar 2...

I've recently bought a E-mu 1616m soundcard witch came with Sonar 4 LE... Before installing Sonar LE i uninstalled Sonar 2, but now I would like to reinstall. I use Cakewalk's DirectXUtility to install Sonar 2 XL from the original CD, but then, when I try to apply the 2.1 and 2.2 updates, they inform me that Sonar is not present or not correctly installed on my system! I've tried several attempts to uninstall and reinstall without success! Is this also a known problem with DirectX? Can MicroSoft AntiSpyware be the problem (tried to deactivate during install to no avail)?

Any suggestion?

One more question... will at some point the Sonar 4.0.2, 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 updates be available for us LE users?

    hi,
    If i am not wrong, you will have to fully uninstall sonar 4.0Le b4 reinstalling sonar2.
    Also I think Sonar 2.o uses diretX 8 and it gave me problems with diret X9.0 b4 i upgraded to sonar 3.0. One more thing, If you do no have registered version of 2.0 this may not let u install patches.

    I have registered versions of all my software :D ...

    I'm not so interested in Sonar 2 XL, but I would like the plugins from Sonar 2 to be available in 4 LE...

    Anyway... it's not that important! I just go and buy some new ones :D ...

    G'day
    I archived all my cd's onto hard drive, the day's come to reinstall and i can't reinstall Cakewalk Sonar 2 XL now because of the direct x 9 problem. So i downloaded the utiilty.

    However the utility does't work because i don't have the correct cd name for Cakewalk. I stored it as Sonar 2 XL.iso so have no idea what the original cd name was!

    Can anyone post the CD's ISO name? (13 characters max i think)

    Just pop the original Sonar 2 CD in your drive and the utility should work just fine. To my knowledge it is not enough just to have the right volume name for the CD for the DirectX Utility to work. You need a original CD! Anyway... this do sound like piracy!!!

    If you´re a registered user,all the info you need is on the downloadpages for updates.........

    Don´t say we´re not helping each other around here,we just don´t like piracy.

    If you follow the setup program closely you can chose to install the plugins only. No need to go and buy new ones.
