(Resolved in 17.06 update 2) SONAR 2017.05 update mouse pointer issue?

Good Day,

Im having a small but annoying issue since update, in track view mouse pointer seems offset lower when trying to select anything near top of controls, i.e., track number, mute, solo etc.., and starting at 2nd track resizing tool appears lower than at line, about half way into controls at top, i.e., pointer changes to resizing tool, in middle mute, solo, or other top line controls

Anyone else having this issue?

It sounds like the issue I am having.  The "cursor" is almost always in resize mode.

Wild-arse question here - are you guys using font scaling in Windows? Both Windows 10 or other version?

No Font Scaling for me, all stock under Win 10 display settings.  Yep Iam getting the resize cursor... Jesse G put your midi / instrument tracks in their thinnest setting and see what you get.

Yep, I get this too. No font resizing here.

I notice that on the first track, if the M or S button has the focus (white corners), the problem goes away for that button. Not so on tracks 2 and later, where the resize cursor appears regardless of focus.

    Cheers, Peter.

Iam still having one project produce a squel sound, It plays out past the end and I can't stop it, close it, etc etc.
Bummer too because things seem fine otherwise with this update. This seems to happen most often when i mess with the tempo. it locks, buzzes and becomes unresponsive.  I have to kill it via Task Manager, unless its Kontakt 3.6.8.??

I reported same issue a few days ago immediately after doing the early access update:
    http://forum.cakewalk.com/m/tm.aspx?m=3610946

Can do work around as others have mentioned by placing the pointer on the very bottom of the icon you want to affect. Very awkward though.
My mouse function, size etc. has not been updated in any way. Hope this issue can be fixed.

All in all I am very happy with this update and love the Adaptive limiter.

My scaling is at 100%.  I am having a similar issue with my Console 1.  When I try to change frequencies in the eq section, it jumps (360hz-720hz for example without stepping in between).

I am not having an issue with my Behringer X Touch.

To clarify, if I for example try to change the level of an fx send with reverb, the mouse driven function goes from 0 to 100 without stopping.  Ditto for knobs in VST thingies.

    Hi all,

I just rolled back to previous version, 2017.04, (didn't realize how easy it was to do), and pointer is back functioning properly, so seems it has something to do with update, so back using 2017.04 for now to complete some stuff, and may reload 2017.05 later to see if issue persists.
Im still using Win7, but I see some with Win10 having these issues also.

    Cheers

Thank you for checking. I'm not having this problem and it seems most others aren't either, so the Bakers just need to figure out what different Windows or program configuration causes this. Hopefully it won't be hard to narrow down.

I tried altering scaling but it doesn't make a difference, the mouse pointer is unresponsive most of the time, unless I am very very careful and point to the bottom of what I wish to change. I don't wish to roll back though, I'm going to wait and see if it is addressed at the next update. Thanks for the help

Re: SONAR 2017.05 update mouse pointer issue? 2017/06/06 15:26:10 (permalink)
    Good Day,

Update, so I tried reinstalling 2017.05, and still have pointer issue. starting at second track and down, if you widen track strips so more icons appear on top line of strip it may be more apparent, (i.e.,  M, S, REC...etc..). If you narrow tracks strips so, M, S, etc.., are on second line then they seem normal, or issue may not be as apparent. (i.e., track number/name are only affected.)
So it seems anything on top line of track strip is affected (from second track and down).

    Cheers

    More details.

What I was seeing is the the mouse pointer was almost ALWAYS in the resize mode.  Note sure if I saw the other aberrant behavior.    I ended up rolling back and all is good.

I am not doing any font scaling, but my main monitor is manually adjusted so that the display does not "spill" out side of the display area.

On thing to note is that I do have a Wacom drawing tablet and I have not updated any of its drivers since I built the machine a couple of years ago (Windows 10).

    Hey
That would make it lot more annoying, LOL, but I still found it annoying enough so I rolled back again, I guess ripple edit and Adaptive Limiter will have to wait for now.

Same issue occuring here.  Win10 pro x64 (Creative update), Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 running a Samsung T240 Rose @ 1920x1200 (16:10).  No scaling enabled.

Also using remote desktop to an Acer 10" tablet running Win10 home x86, and was able to use the multi-touch surface no problem in this fashion but now the entire UI is completely unresponsive to anything except Application Minimize Exit and Maximize/window mode buttons at the top.  Touch behaves perfectly fine in any other application and general windows/remote desktop use.  Sonar is the only thing not responding to touch commands.

I noticed someone else mentioned having a Wacom Tablet.  I have an Intuos 4 but all the drivers and services are disabled.
