I've been keeping up my record as the forum's longest serving lurker

I'm still using P5 as it meets my needs - I've settled into a technique of improvising in AudioMulch then sequencing and mixing the results in P5. I have an online release in the pipeline but in the meantime there's some P5\AudioMulch tracks on MySpace:

I still read every day or so... I started a new pastorate at a much larger church last summer, and don't have as much time as I once did for extracurriculars.  Still using 2.5 for sketching and idea-catching.

I'm still looking in every now and then.  Still use P5 live.  I looked around for an alternative but the thought of trying to get my presets working  in a new host gave me the shivers.

I must however get back to composing....

I still check here from time to time. Still think the P5ers are the coolest kids on the Cakewalk forums. Still like the idea of a pattern-oriented sequencing solution as an adjunct to a linear DAW. Wish P5 had gone forward. Now considering Ableton Live as an adjunct to Cubase. Best regards!

    Still here ..................

I read most all of the posts, almost everyday. I have been hanging in the Coffee Shop more lately. Listen to most of the posted music.

Still using P5 v2.5 and loving it. I,m waiting for after the fiest of the year to spend some time and money on some new equipment and software.

    I'm using Live now, exclusively.

it just works much better for me, everything I could do in P5, I can do it in Live with as little fuss, and there's plenty more to do in Live. I still miss a few P5 tools, mostly the alias factor, and some features in pattern edition.

I have a "Lite" copy of Live that came with some M-Audio stuff I bought.

As many times as I have fired up the program, and tried to use it, I've given up in frustration. I never could wrap my head around the interface. Heck, I've yet to create one piece of music with it at all. I guess I'm just stuck in the P5 model, of getting things done.

I find that even with Sonar, I tend to start all of my endeavors in P5, and after I get running I sometimes move over to Sonar, and then use P5 as a rewired app.

You're probably running into the same issue with Live (and Sonar) as many Sonar users encountered trying to use P5 - attempting to bend Live's workflow to the same way you were used to in P5. I pretty much guarantee that if you work through the included lessons in Live (I figure the lessons are included with the Lite version) and give it a little time, then you will soon find yourself getting comfortable with it...I did and the general impression I get from other P5 users that have switched is that it takes a little while to adapt at first.
