Hi Smb & co, brilliant tune, like it a lot. Vocal could be a tad louder imho, great voice. Love the acoustic intro. Great electric solo at the end. Not a fan of the drums or more precisely the point where they come in, it gets a bit busy, timing wise, at that point. Good job, Sirs. Rik

This is a beautiful song. I love the vocal and melody. In fact, it was so short and sweet that I wanted more. My only suggestion would be to turn the bass up a bit to balance the guitars, and maybe the lead vocal, too. I just listened a second time, and it seems the acoustic gtr. is a bit louder than it needs to be, but that's just my opinion. Tim is an excellent singer, and he needs to be heard. All in all, a terrific song.

hi James , this SMB song brought me there Tim sounds great . I love the combination of him singing on SMB music i really dug the way the tune built up & modulated the mix and guitars sound very good . dug your Lester playing , nice singing tone say that drummer in the intro reminds me of a couple of fellas I've played with in bars the shift in tempo was a welcome surprise once the tempo hit the pocket it made the modulations even more dynamic.. :-) But something about the Snare didn't sit right w/me. But hey, I'm listening on a laptop so don't take anything I say sonically with too much weight.

Very nice guys. Always a pleasure to hear Tim. Do you really have to post his singing at the same time as I post mine? He's a hard act to follow Did you write this? The lyrics? I like the arrangement, ditto on bringing the vox up. Nice guitar work too, both electric and acoustic. Good tone on the lead as always. Daryl

Hi Larry, James & Tim, This is a great piece of music. The melody ( at least to me ) has the quality of sounding familiar/timeless and brand new, at the same time. Tim's vocal is just fantastic and arrangement and guitar ( and mandolin ) performances are perfect.

Thanks Rik, points duly noted! Hi Lynn - thank you. The bass & vocals went up and down so much while I was mixing I got a bit 'punch drunk', so I'll revisit that soon. Kenny - thanks very much, glad you dug it. 'Lester' sat this one out, I used the Squier Tele with the P90's. It's all going through the trusty Boss though, so you've probably heard that 'Sweet Lead' patch before Thanks Robby ;o)

Yes, the melody at the start is topnotch, captured me straight away. thought the lead could come closer while the acoustic picking back. The drums and elec guitar are ok. They key change near the mid end was way cool too. Cian

Wow Wow Wow Beautiful. Raise the Vox, please. Percussion is cool but sounds about a 32nd note too late to me. Maybe that's the desired effect though?

Thanks John Thanks Scotty! Rimshot - thank you, you could be right, it was a toughie to mix, have to take another listen soon. Thanks Daryl Larry wrote the tune. I sent it to Tim 'cos he likes to hear what we're up to, and within a couple of hours he sent me back a vocal for it, lyrics and all - we were knocked out.

Very cool. He might have already had some lyrics he was waiting for a melody that would work. For me the hardest part about writing lyrics is deciding what the song is about, what do I want to say. Once I know that, the lines come quickly. Great melody too. Good job all of you.

I like it a lot! It sounds really good. You may want to check it against a Jackson Browne tune. I'm not sure the name of it but it's the story of life on the road followed by "Stay". The first part of it before the drums come in anyway. Very well done.

abso-bloody-lutely fantastic. once of the best melodies you've ever written James, it's both familiar and fresh, and the vocal line Tim sings to start if off is great. love the change up with the key change and solos, all in all a sonic treat. mixwise, sounds pretty good, at times i'd like to hear a little more body in Tim's voice, which is great on acoustic/pared back stuff but can be a little thin when more instruments get going (maybe some doubling/trebling off to the sides with a touch of chorus or delay, set really low down? or some parallel comp/eq? i dunno!)

Corr (pun intended!)! Oh my! Wow! And other exclamations of wonder! Celtic! As it should be written. Why did it finish so soon - I was singing along with the leprechauns!? What a truly great song. Please write more verses. This is the music I hear in my head when I sit down to write and never manage to create that wonderful sound that you do so effortlessly. The combination of the three of you is perfection - and the leprechauns agree!

Thank you so much Frank, you made our day Hi Gary - you hit the nail on the head there - when Larry sent me the rough draft of the tune, it immediately sounded like a 'classic', and Tim latched on to it straight away. Thanks a lot. Thanks very Cian, much appreciated. Ed - wow is good! Thank you muchly. I honestly don't know about the drum thing, it sounds OK to me, but time will tell.

Yea SMB w/ vocals!!! I love your instrumentals but vocals always add so much to your tunes. Miss hearing Larry sing! Was Tim the same one who sang on "When the Devil Gives Up"? One of my all time favorite songs... This one is really good. Great song structure and performances. Very ethereal. But yeah, the drums are the weak link. The kick/snare needs to punch to drive this one. Other than that my only crit is it's too short!!
