The only thing now Aero is on, Ive noticed the PC EQ graphic sometimes becomes unresponsive, turn the dials but nothing happens on EQ graph! this never happened when I had Areo off, one thing after another, fix one thing and bugger up something else lol

Maybe why different users are getting different issues, depending on whether Aero is on or off, might need to add it system specs LOL

@soens, I see in your specs your using WinXP, I dont think that uses Areo?

Ah yes! BUT... my specs also reveal I use Win7 64 bit*, thus my question.

*hint: Playground

I've searched around in there but can't find any reference to it. Is it Areo or Aero?

Sorry its Aero.

Go to "Control Panel" then click on "Personalization" you should be able to just right click on your desktop, then "Personalize" then choose an Aero theme, that basically turns it on :-)

Odd graphics behaviour in Sonar x1d Expanded (x64) with Tone booster EQ, actually most of the tone booster plugs act this way in one form or another, like with Barricade for instance knob/s don't update unless you open and close the plugin

Yet it works as intended in Sonar 8.5 (x64)

NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT

Seem that SONAR X1 "Skylight" use advance graphic vendor/vektor and direct API calls need of use of direct X 11. Skylight its actually a great move to get a glitch free graphic and audio experience thinking of the future of SONAR.
Your graphic card only support direct X 9. I don't know but that can be a possibility that cousing this problem in SONAR X1 and not in 8.5.

I have also had sometimes some problems that are related to graphic-card and I have now update my ASUS NVIDIA-9600 GT to a new ASUS GEFORCE GT 640 2GB DDR3 instead. Great card and you can use up to 4 monitors on one single graphic card.

I'm looking at getting one of these myself.

Aero is only the name of the graphics engine.

I have aero enabled, and use a flat theme, no transparency, and some of the eye candy disabled.

Select a fancy win7 theme, then:
change the colors, etc
disable transparency/glass
system, advanced, performance: disable the most annoying bits
use ease of access to do more: such as disable snap

and so on.

Choosing the windows 7 basic does a bunch of this stuff and still uses the GPU more than the CPU.

The classic themes disable areo, nicht gut.
