OK Noel,  I've spent a fair bit of time tracking this down and I can tell you that it is indeed the Realtek ASIO driver.  I can use the WDM drivers fine, but once I switch to ASIO with the Realtek drivers installed, it's crash city.  My Motherboard is the Asus Prime x370 Pro which uses the Realtek® ALC S1220A audio chipset.  The Realtek audio driver can be downloaded from here:

I'm not sure if this will work with other Realtek chips, but if there is anything you need me to do in testing, I'm happy to help.  The crash is 100% repeatable.
