Hey Rothchild!

Thanks a lot. By the way, if you want you can delete the old 'Logic Pro 8' scheme since the new one is actually an improvement over the previous one. It'll save you a little bit of screen space, and avoid confusion :-)

Take care and thanks again!

@ GGD

yep it can be done, but not by using any of the default colour options. it has to be done externally using software such as restorator 2007, etc. the main file is "TTSRes16.dll" in the root directory of your sonar installation. if you *do* decide to go that route, remember to backup the file first.

it would be nice if it were an option such as a 2-colour gradient. that would be ace (hint hint cakewalk dev) :)

@Cormega,

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying. Is there a link with an example you could provide?

It does look like it, but it might be the lighting in the room changing...angle of the camera, not sure!

It could be what rm5700_at_optonline.net said or maybe the quality of the video, but it sure ain't Sonar :-)

Take care!

Another colour scheme I had a go at. I call it 'More Pro Than Tools' for want of a better name.

I assume it would be via the control panel, its not something I've ever looked into - turn off system sounds is one of the first things I do on my PCs.

I was told flyakite OSX slows down your PC LOADS and modifies so many dll's that uninstalling completely is impossible. By the way good theme except it looks far better on your screenshots, when I tried it on my 1280x1024 screen is looked odd

Did the person who told you that actually try it? When you install Flyakite it backs up all your system dll's and replaces them with the OSX ones, when you uninstall it removes all the OSX dll's and puts the XP ones back - so really it dosen't slow down your system any more than the XP Luna theme does. I've been using it for about 3 years and have never had any problems with it. Try it and you'll see.

Color schemes are like elephants. Everyone likes to look at them but no-one likes to have to keep one.

Thanks micbeats,

that is sooo cool. Love it. Also best shot of S8 I've seen - no other version has pause on the transport controls :)

I really like this theme and after making a few minor changes (like changing the metering & loop region colors) I
have made this my default theme! I still have not got up the nerve to try out the flyakiteosx yet though. It does look cool though.

Thanks for the share alree!

flyakite...i tried it out on my XP machine after seeing the link here. it's got a very nice feel to it, etc. but i was getting errors with 'some' of my dll files from different VSTi's etc, and some default windows stuff like calculator, etc didn't work for the same reason. (xp sp3)

apart from that it does work very nice in general, although it does add a memory footprint to the memory load, it is quite low. I took it off again for the dll problem (no post-uninstall problems at all)

A special thanks goes out to alree who created the original theme More Pro Than Tools a few months back. I just personalized it a little bit for my own tastes (changed the colors for meters, loop region markers, Track View Now Time display, etc.) and I am not running the flyakiteosx mac skin, but essentially it is the MPTT color scheme. Since SONAR 8 did not come with any new theming capabilities or color schemes, I decided to adopt this one as my official S8 color theme.

http://stashbox.org/250218/MPTT.clr

Just right mouse click and Save Target As on the link.
