After this update, my Sonar Platinum identifies in Command Center as "Cambridge (21.2.0.21)" In Sonar/Help/About it says "Version 21.2.00 Build 21 - x64" Unclear what is gained by using slightly different naming and decimal placeholder conventions. Am posting in case it might be helpful to others.

BTW - are these updates cumulative OR does the command center only show the version you need to upgrade to currently and wont allow later updates until that one done? Just curious - in case you forgot to say update to Braintree - will that have to be done first before Cambridge?

Looking good apart from the minor niggle that I am seeing the Hardgroove needs to be installed which I did for the previous Braintree release and on first open it spanked my customised control bar.

Has the Cambridge update been pulled off the CCC pending some issues ? I have tried twice to download the Cambridge update but can only see "Braintree" (21.01.00 Build 38) and I installed this a while back. Do I need to update CCC perhaps ?

My custom named VST plug in stayed the same through all of the updates... my East West voices of passion which by default in the vst plugin window is just named eastweast 1 and I renamed it to Voices of Passion and it has stayed throughout the upgrades....... so I'm not exactly sure why this is changing for some people.....

Plug-in names are stored in the VST Inventory entries in the registry. Renaming plug-ins using the Plug-in Properties Dialog in the Plug-in Manager and subsequently running a VST reset will restore plug-in names according to the VSTPlugInNameFormat setting. A VST reset starts by clearing the registry keys in the VST Inventory.

I read the eZine, but it doesn't address some of my installation issues. I have bought/subscribed to Platinum weeks ago, but have not downloaded and installed in the hope that the Command Center would soon be updated. Here are my questions: 1) Presumably, since there is no Command Center update in this release, the issue of "custom" installations has not been addressed. Also, the eZine has no instructions for installation of the various products to desired locations/folders. Does a procedure exist for installation the individual packages in desired locations? 2) Does installation of any of these packages at locations other than the default require registry modifications? 3) If this is to be my first attempt at installing Platinum, do I need to install previous releases first, or do I only need to install the latest (Cambridge) release? 4) My music PC is not connected to the internet, but I have access to another PC that is connected to the internet. Is there a procedure for offline installation and authorization? 5) Will Command Center ever be enhanced to accommodate custom installations, and if so, when is this likely to occur? thanks Keith

Anderton If you bought SONAR as a new user, you will also receive a year of updates and that includes the bug fixes. If you updated from X3, then you received all the updates between X3 and the latest version (Mix Recall, Control Bar, etc.), and will also receive a year of updates that includes bug fixes.
Hi Anderton, Thanks for your reply. I bought Sonar Pro as an upgrade from Sonar Studio X3, so from what you are saying, I will receive a year of bug fixes, upgrades etc. without having to buy Cambridge. Thanks for clarifying.
John It is free to the membership. I'm a little confused by your question. Have read the announcement dealing with the new membership? What "pay for package" are you talking about?
Hi John, maybe I'm missing something, but I thought the choice was between buying an upgrade outright or subscribing by paying a monthly amount. That's what I meant by subscribers vs non-subscribers. It's clear that customers who buy the product license outright will still receive a year of upgrades/fixes. Thanks. Zaffer

If you pay for 12 consecutive months, you keep everything you received during membership including SONAR forever.

What version should the Anderson collection show in the online account at the store? If I remember correctly I still see a version there as 1.0.xxx which sounded like still a first release? Does this download all the older cousin nene as well as the new? That would seem redundant... Keni

Now if CCC were smart enough to see that I already have Rapture and D Pro installed and turn off its red LEDs that would be a good thing (he says hopefully). And if the layout didn't make it look as if anything I am looking at is a Trial Product. And if the layout made clear that it is displaying the name and number of the upgrade that I already have installed, as well as displaying the name of the pending upgrade, that would be less confusing, too (he says greedily).

If you are paying on a monthly basis you should be getting the updates too. Its part of the deal. If you stop paying before you are paid in full Sonar with revert to demo mode. It isn't a subscription its a membership. Think of Sonar 2015 as not being complete until the end of the year. Through out the year on a monthly basis CW will be releasing updates that both fix issues and add new functions and features. Those that have paid the full upfront amount will be getting these updates without having to pay for them. Those that are paying on a monthly plan will also receive them as long as their account is kept up to date. Its really very simple.

I agree, the updates are great as with everything else. Not sure what got fixed under the hood but I worked for 4 hours today on 6 different projects without any issues. There were some glitches prior to this Cambridge update. I still find Plt opens projects a little slower than X3e but I guess I can wait the extra 15 seconds for all the extra refinements in usability. Great job Bakers....now I know I made the right choice sticking with you guys since the DOS days...good 'ole days eh??? ;-)

What people object to is that the SFZ files are placed in the Multisamples folder instead of inside a folder within the Multisamples folder. If that doesn't bother you, go ahead and install it. Also one person reported that Dim Pro would crash with these patches at 48 sample buffers but worked with higher buffer values, however another user reported it working fine at 48 samples so take your choice.

Thanks Craig... Yes, I understand the issue and while not horrible, I'm just thinking to avoid some cleanup work if the fix relocates the sfz's into the correct folder, but leaves removal of the old files to be manually removed... No biggy... But as I don't often use guitar samples (I too am a guitarist and typically prefer to play my real guitars ;-)), I figured I could wait... Honestly I'm more concerned about the control bar snafu as it is currently a bit of a pain searching for my needed buttons instead of auto-locating them from habit... Thanks for all your hard work. Both creating your add-ins as well as the constant visibility and participation helping so many via the forum... I do look forward to checking out these samples... Keni
