Thanks. I had looked at that, but I thought that was only enhancements. I see the fix list is at the bottom.

I'm happy for those who are happy with this release, and yay about the Control Bar fix. I'm sorta kinda starting to regret my full buy-in to Platinum, but it's still early, so we'll see what happens in the coming months. -Susan

This is the exact update people want, bug fixes and feature enhancements. You guys finally fixed the vertical zoom bug caused by hidden tracks, been waiting for this above everything. Now just waiting for simpler non-manual control of clip colors, those black backgrounds and colored waveforms are horrible on the eyes. I'm hoping all future updates are like this, focusing on what we already have and making it better.

I would prefer that we will eventually get some Non-Anderton content. No offence Craig but I have more fx than I can poke a stick at. What I wouldn't mind having is a tutorial on how these fx chains have been created so that I could create some using my own creativity.
I think this release is good in the sense that Cake is listening to the community as far as featurelets and fixes goes. I don't think we can expect big ticket features every month so I'm still content to look back on the first year in another 9 months.

Hi, Christopher- Well, apparently it's the exact update *you* wanted, and that's great! I and lots of other folks have logged bugs that weren't fixed and feature enhancements that weren't implemented, so here's to the next release! -Susan

I think you took what I said incorrectly. I'm talking in regards to the direction they took with this update, not the fact that I actually got any specific value out of it. The majority of users want Bug Fixes and Feature Enhancements and that's what we got with this update. Just like it took months for the bug I encountered to be fixed, it's going to be the same situation for others. That also applies to feature requests and their implementation. The fact is they're doing what the community asked, and I hope that's where their time is dedicated in the future rather than adding plugins and new features before refining and fixing what we already have.

Glad to see control bar issue seems to be resolved, perhaps insignificant to some, but I found it quite annoying first off, now I can move on to bigger and better things, like aligning my track timing. Cheers and Thanks

mudgel I would prefer that we will eventually get some Non-Anderton content. Well, that's dependent on other people creating some I've approached a company that makes really great loops to contribute some and am putting "feelers" out for that sort of material, but don't want the content to turn into "lite" versions of third-party products. I'd make an exception for these loops, though, they're pretty awesome and I'd take as many as they'd be willing to contribute. No offence Craig but I have more fx than I can poke a stick at. So do I LOL! But I didn't have FX I could just drag in as "shortcuts" during the songwriting process. I've tended to concentrate on special-purpose collections and effects that aren't in SONAR. For example there's nothing out there quite like the KickMaster or the drag-and-drop pedalboards. That said, I've also done two instruments, a loop collection, ProChannel presets, new IRs, and of course, the eZine. What you're going to see more of in the future from me is instruments, but they take a while to do. I also have more loops on deck, and a test signal suite that will help horrify people in terms of realizing how bad their room acoustics are What I wouldn't mind having is a tutorial on how these fx chains have been created so that I could create some using my own creativity.
I definitely want to do more videos, I had planned to do things like chapters from the advanced workshop series for the Membership Program. I finally brought all my gear to Nashville last month, so now I have the tools needed to do videos and create more instruments. As to how the FX chains have been created, I put a bunch of effects in series. I really don't know how I could do an interesting tutorial on these...I'll have to think about it. Most of the techniques I use work for those chains but are "wrong" and wouldn't have a lot of relevance for other chains...although I could be wrong about that if they trigger your creativity to come up with variations on those themes.

The order will change, for example in the March issue the fixes were first. If you look at the thumbnails on the first two pages you can see what's included in the issue, and the order of the topics.

I just wanted to chime in and say that am really impressed with the "new" business model and that this release is a great example of that. There were many bug fixes and feature improvements. And I got them now instead of months from now. There were a few new "things" but clearly, the focus was on cleaning up features that were already there. In this day and age of constant innovation it seems everything (both hardware and software) are generally released long before they are truly "ready" in order to make them financially viable from a corporate perspective. I get that. BUT... As time goes on, I as a consumer find myself much less impressed by the "coolness" and "wow factor" of shiny new things... And far more impressed by the rare companies who make things that actually work as intended and continue to support them after the sale. Kudos to the Cakewalk team for embracing this mentality and to Gibson for supporting it. Keep up the good work and I will continue to vote "yea" for it with my dollars.

From my perspective it's pretty clear that every release has been an improvement upon the last and not a step backwards, and up until now there have been a few new territory jitters, which is normal. It looks like whatever they are doing right now with Platinum, they are doing it right.
The other software projects under development probably need a bit of catch up, however this is the standard to look up to and quite an achievement. Well done Cakewalk.
