Sarah's Resolve /New Mix!!!
This is a song about someone I know breaking out of a desperate situation. A tribute, if you will... I don't sing very often, but this song cried out for it and I couldn't think of an instrumental anyways. Mr. James Griffiths: - Electric guitar, Hammond B3 sample, clave and mixing. Mr. Randy Prier: Tasty BGV's. ( Many thanks Randy!) Me - Vox, acoustic guitar, bass, percussion. Please click on the SlowMarchingBand link below to get to the song. We really appreciate all your listens & comments. This place is like home to us and we all thank you for your kind support!! We tried to take the most crucial comments and adjust accordingly, especially lowering the lead vocal volume. We really do listen to your critiques, as that's what guides us!

Good to get a new song from you with vocals!! Very natural delivery and performances. Beautiful soulful guitar solo and the BGVs are a great touch. I would love to hear an alternate mix of this with full drums and the bass guitar up higher in the mix. I like it how it is, I'm just wondering how it would sound as a little more of a rock song. Another really nice job from y'all!! Dave www.soundclick.com/steakbone

I really couldn't believe I was listening to music that I hadn't bought. Can't explain how everything fits together so good...your vocal characteristics and storyline so well written. I felt the backing track was perfect for the "story". You and James are like hand and glove so it's really cool that Randy could fit so well. That's pro. I enjoyed so much I don't know if anything with mix needs attention...so perfect for me. Just a fantastic song. You guys are tuff. "Home" wouldn't be the same without you. Cheers, Michael

Lovely singing and playing but I think the lead vocals are a little too high. Love the oohs and ahhs.

Larry, excellent lyrics and vocals are really sweet. This is your best vocal performance yet IMO. James, your work is shining as usual and Randy.......those BGVs float right into place. Nothing but praise here guys. Another one for the Ipod.

+1 on the America vibe. Yes, the vocals might be a smidge too high in the mix and I didn't care for the sound of the percission (bongos?), but that being said, it's very, very good. Guitars sounded very full.

Dave - Many thanks man! We all appreciate it. Merry Christmas! Michael - We appreciate your kind comments! I know my voice isn't the best in the world (that's why I prefer to play guitar). James & Randy really took this tune to another place. You're a good guy! Mike - Thanks fer the listen. We'll look into the mix. Robby - Many, many thanks!! Yeah, the guitar chords are America sounding now that you mention it. Duane - Thank you! James' guitar playing is very soulful on this and Randy's bgv's never ceases to amaze me! We're glad you're back man! James - Now you have my curiosity all stoked!! Your honesty is fine by me!! No need to be polite and bite yer tounge. I've been married too long for that.... Randy- I see your poker playing skills are in action here..... Big D - Thanks for your critique man and the listen!

Very nice, gentlemen. Yeah, those maj7 chords give it a little America thing, and the sound of the bass too, but that's ok, this tune has a great vibe. You've got that authentic thing going with the vocals, Larry and Randy backups were good too. Nice git work and a fine mix, James. Yep, good one.

Nice work guys .. heartfelt stuff, tangible. Excellent vocal delivery Larry and Randy, lots of empathy, hope and mercy in the combination of your voices. Mix is nice with the instruments subtle leaving the vocals in clear focus. Nice work team, well done.

As always a very clean and full mix. Love the sound of the acoustic. Larry, you need to use that mic a little more often, nice job on the vox and it really clicked with Randys BGV's. Nice added touch with the B3. EXCELLENT job gentlemen. LATER

Great job guys - Larry, your vox on this reminded me a bit of Gordon Lightfoot - I agree with Kev, you should sing more often. Liked the bgvs by Randy, blended well with Larry's lead vox - there's a 60s vibe on the bgvs. James - Nice tone and lines on the Les Paul. I also liked the tone of the Hammond. No crits no the mix - sounds great on my rig. Good one guys, I enjoyed it. Merry Christmas!

Great as usual. Some nice bass lines there Larry! reminded me a bit of Nick Cave in his quieter moments (think Nocturama). Nice solo James, i think i would have had slightly less verb on, just leave the delay. Like it when the organ comes in. Cool vibe!

Great song guys, love the lyrics, very heartfelt. Bgv sound great and fill it out nicely. I'd love to hear this with a good drummer playing along smoothly. Great voice Larry, it comes across very well in this environment. It gave me a Neil Young vibe, mainly the style of the song not the vocal sound. Great guitars as always. Nice open mix. I Love it!

Very, very nice – a bit somber, but thought provoking, pretty and memorable. This is a song that requires a focused listen - if you drop everything else and just let it pull you in, it’s worth it. Vocal is really good, BKUPs sound better each time I hear them (at first it threw me a bit – I’m not sure why). Lyrics work really well also. It’s one of those songs that immediately changes your state of mind – it takes over your mood and afterward makes you want to stay in that introspective state. Great job

Hi, Larry, James and Randy, As always, another well thought out and well performed song straight from the heart. Everything falls into place nicely and the mix is smooth and flowing. I can also hear the America vibe in the acoustic guitar that Robby mentioned, and I can feel the Gordon Lightfoot vocal comparison, too. The vocals really spelled out the emotion of the song and the B3 organ was sweet icing on the cake. Great job guys, and best wishes for the holidays! Bob
