I think so Karl. I've not measured it before or after so it's probably good old placebo at work, but I'm sure the bottom end is a lot tighter and my mixes are translating pretty well to other systems. The other 2 corners are also trapped - one doubles as a vocal "booth" and the other corner is the door, with foam corner panels glued onto it so when I close the door, it sort of "closes the loop" I did have 2 rugs on the floor but it was, to my ears at least, too dead so I removed one to bring a bit of life back

kennywtelejazz Hey Shawn , You certainly took my by surprise when I saw that you gave me the best answer . Now that you have a variety of SONAR users posting some real nice home studio pic's in your thread , maybe one of them fine gents would enjoy the boost of self esteem they might feel after getting the coveted green gold " best answer " badge of honor . I would be perfectly OK to be downgraded to just a helpful so that can happen . Kenny
No way to grade you down , Kenny, at least your photo contains too much marshall speaker and amps so that your are the most boosted self esteemd gent. Welcome
I'm in a new residence for the past few months and I have to figure out how to set my space up for music . In the mean time I hope it's OK to post some of my guitar and amp porn … Have yet to take Photos of my R 8 Gibson Les Paul Historic , some Jazz guitars , amps, acoustics , and a variety of things like small string instruments , Uke's Mando , ect … I hope some of these pic's will do in the meantime
Oh well , at least i tried to be on topic to some degree , Kenny
Wow, that´s a really nice guitar collection .

Ha. My room's so untidy im too embarrassed to take a photo. To be honest, because I retired at the time we built our current home 2.5 years ago, I've never really set it up properly so things are all over the place and not permanent. I drag stuff out when I need it.

Regarding "tidy": I'm a slob everywhere else, but in my studio I'm a compulsive cleaner. Whenever I'm waiting for the computer to crunch numbers, I start furiously picking things up and putting them away. I just can't work efficiently knowing I'm surrounded by a mess.

Seeing this thread, I became inclined to share a couple impromptu photos of my vocal / mic booth. When I don't need the booth for a while, I stow the panels in a closet. It takes about 10 mins to either stow or set up. Having panels on the roof/top of the sound booth makes a humongous difference. " /> " /> My vocals and acoustic guitar sound way better when recorded in this vocal booth.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Oh yeah! Many hours. What took the longest was the planning, design & build of the desk. But I think it turned out ok. I should have built an additional shelf/platter for my qwerty keyboard but hindsight is always more accurate than foresight

OK why not? It's kind of a blurry phone pic, but I guess that's par for the course these days... Sonar Platinum on a pair of monitors, computer is a desktop dinosaur (Q6600 I think) that still runs surprisingly well, running Windows 10 now and I actually rather like it... There's an Alphatrack and 1st gen Kore unit there, both of which I still actually use. And a Contour Shuttle to make things even more confusing. E-Mu 1616m interface, a couple of other things tucked in there too. Monitors are Dynaudio BX-5's, headphones are Beyer 990s. Keyboard is something nondescript and fairly crappy but modded with big brightly coloured paper 'lights' by my son when he was 4 or so which is frankly the best thing about it. My better controllers are onstage at my regular gig - a Nord Stage (1st gen) and a Studiologic SL900 Pro. Also not shown are various other instruments I play at various levels from half-decent to pretty limited, including guitar, bass, flute, french horn, trumpet accordion and miscellaneous percussive devices. Piano I studied and play professionally, so I suppose I have to stand behind that more or less...

these are my headphones...the awesome MONSTER ON-EAR N-TUNE HEADPHONES...made by Monsters the creators of BEATS AUDIO featuring the same if not better technology. They have a well balanced sound and really nice strong bass and kick sound coverage. $99.00 at Walmart I highly recommend these headphones. I also recommend that your laptop feature beats audio if you listen to your headphones really loud like I do...it increases the volume by about 35% cleanly.
