Side Chain in Sonar Platinum

I am an orchestral music trailer composer and need some help with side chaining.  I have some hard hitting drums that need to be louder in the mix without clipping.  I have watched several Youtube videos and read posts on the Cakewalk forum, but still can't set up the compressor and busses to work together.  Most of the videos focus on pop music and not orchestral arrangements.  Could someone take the time to give me a step-by-step sequence to making it all work together within Sonar?  I mostly write with strings, brass, percussion, and some woodwind instruments.  For years, I have always just adjusted the various dynamics by drawing them in.  At times, I need to turn in music very quickly and would like to have a short-cut if possible.  What do I need to do to make the drums (or any instruments) stand out?

Looking forward to a reply....

Thanks-

TIM
